Sources of Learning Personal Therapy You are asked to undertake 25 hours of Personal Therapy, preferably within the NLPt modality, spread realistically over the 3-5 year period of development. This requirements serves to support your personal learning process and address any emergent issues. It also enables you to experience the process from a client s perspective. Personal Development From a range of personal development activities you pursue your self-assessment of development need, to the tune of 225 hours. Over and above this, it is essential that you develop an acute self-awareness regarding your practice and your role within it. You are asked to maintain a Self Reflection Log, where you demonstrate accountability to your practice, and develop the ability to review and evaluate your own work. Training forge is committed to offering you effective learning experiences within the period of Training, covering Therapeutic Practice, Therapeutic Skills and NLP Modelling, as well as other Therapeutic Modalities. This takes the form of Direct Input 35 days 7 x 5 day programmes covering just over two years. A blend of theory, and observed reviewed practice Individual Reviews a minimum of 2 reviews a year Distance Learning Materials 5 packs covering the UKCP set topics Tutorials group tutorials via Skype Coaching individual contracted phone calls Client Hours You are required to have acquired 450 client hours within the four-year period, with two clients involved in 25 hours or more. These hours will be written up and form the basis of your supervision. Supervision All NLP practitioners offering therapy are required to work under supervision. This is to protect the client and provide feedback and direction to yourself. Preferably your supervisor is also an NLP practitioner, although not essential until your final year. In total, 150 supervised client hours are required, combining 75 primary supervision hours which can be face to face, in a small group or in exceptional circumstances over the phone, and 75 secondary supervision hours involving peer activities, demonstrations and role plays. You are in charge of your learning Assessment This programme is designed to meet the accreditation requirements of NLPtCA (Neurolinguistic Psychotherapy and Counselling Association). Successful applicants can then apply for registration with UKCP (United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapists). Qualitative Assessment Our professional Standards of Competence are divided into three certification levels. Certificate in Clinical Practice: a 3 day module, which is the precursor to registration on the programme. Intermediate Certificate in NTM: on completion of the first year course modules and production of required evidence. Psychotherapy Diploma in NTM: on completion of the second year course modules and production of required evidence including your research project. You will be asked to provide Wr i t te n e v i d e n ce: case notes, annotated transcripts, personal learning logs, developed case studies, 20,000 word dissertation and relevant documents Visual evidence: observed practice, video if appropriate Auditory evidence: discussion with supervisor, tutor and assessor Quantitative Assessment For all the other elements, NLPtCA, in line with UKCP requirements, stipulate a set number of hours for each source of development. The Accreditation Programme This is a theoretical outline of your possible pathway of development to full Accreditation. Actual events will be dependent on your circumstances. It is an NLPtCA requirement that by the point of accreditation application, all these hours have been satisfied, as a minimum. Eligibility Upon application, you are required to meet the following criteria: Demonstrate ability to complete a post graduate Masters level of study Be over 25 years old 240 hours of NLP training (or have an action plan to attain prior to registration) Have completed a three-day Clinical Practice training Have completed 20 hours of supervised practice on a 1:4 hour ratio, and provided two samples of case notes, (or have an action plan to achieve within the first three months if not before.) Hold Professional Indemnity Insurance Become a student member of NLPtCA. Selection In addition to meeting the Eligibility Criteria, through interview, you are asked to demonstrate attributes required of a professional therapist. There is a fee of 45 charged to applicants, to meet the costs of materials and administration. Progression Progression into the Second Year of the training is dependent on having demonstrated the ability to complete the course work required of the First Year. If there are concerns regarding your ability to deliver the evidence, at the end of the First year you may be advised to leave the programme, with the possibility of registering at a later stage, provided you have continued with supervised practice. Certification You are expected to complete all quantitative and qualitative requirements of the Psychotherapy Diploma in NTM within four years from registration. You then continue to gather the required number of hours in each development area, until you are eligible to apply to NLPtCA for accreditation. A successful application to become an Accredited Psychotherapist Member will then render you eligible to apply for professional registration with UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy). Reviews Throughout the Training and Development period, participants will be offered tutoring, guidance and feedback. Should you arrive at the conclusion that full completion is beyond your current resources you would be eligible for interim qualification. Extensions can be negotiated dependent on circumstances. Costs Certificate in Clinical Practice 450 ( 100 refund at registration for full Diploma) Intermediate Certificate in NTM - Yr 1: 3800 Psychotherapy Diploma in NTM - Yrs 1&2 6750 (These include costs of assessment and certification) NOTE: You will be earning throughout the duration of the programme and accreditation process - more than the cost of your development programme.
