The Northwest Regional Library System offers free access to online resources designed to help with homework and school projects. To access these resources, go to our website at www.nwrls.com, click on Research and then Databases. Choose Florida Electronic Library and then K-12 Resources. Resources are divided by grade level, and include information for teachers, too. Free online resources include: Florida History Fair: Provides resources relating to the current History Fair theme that are available online from the State Library and Archives of Florida. Gale Virtual Reference Library: This is a database of encyclopedias and specialized reference sources for multidisciplinary research. Topics include fashion, popular culture, the environment, animals, law, health, and history. Kids InfoBits: Meets the research needs of students in Kindergarten through Grade 5. It features a developmentally appropriate, visually graphic interface; a subject-based topic tree search; and full-text, age-appropriate, curriculum-related content. Research in Context: Created specifically for middle-schoolers, this resource provides age-appropriate videos, newspapers, magazines, primary sources, and much more.
