Together this is a team building for a foundation of religious education. Preparation and reception of the Sacraments of Reconciliation (confession/penance) and/or Confirmation involves a two year process. The first year provides the foundation and the second year provides the focus on the graces received. Every family is unique and special, questions or concerns may be directed to the PREP office at. Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) : RCIA is for anyone who has not been baptized, for Catholics desirous of First Eucharist (Holy Communion) or Confirmation, or those interested in learning more about their faith. Antoine Leason, SVD of the Divine Word Missionaries will be with us today to celebrate Mass and speak about the work of the Divine Word Missionaries. The Divine Word Missionaries are an international Religious Community of missionary Priests and Brothers who serve in 70 countries helping to build chapels, celebrate the sacraments, and spread the Word of God in the remote mission communities. Over 6,000 active missionaries travel to the far corners of the world building hospitals to care for the sick, educating the poor, teaching the hungry to farm, and providing life s necessities like drinkable water, food, and shelter. We help people neglected and forgotten by society to build a better future and foster vibrant Catholic communities of service and faith around the world. Fr. Antoine is originally from Jackson, Mississippi and he has worked as a missionary on the Island of Montserrat in the Caribbean and in the Inner Cities of New Orleans, Lafayette, Louisiana and Indianapolis, Indiana, as well as a Pastor at St. Elizabeth Parish in Chicago. This Mission Appeal is part of the Mission Coop Program of our Archdiocese. A second collection to help support the missionary work of the Divine Word Missionaries will be taken today. Their missionaries work in some of the most difficult areas of our world.
