WV in Vietnam has a total income of approximately than USD 20,000,000 (FY15) with funding from 16 support countries in Europe, Asia, the Americas and Australia. WVV employs about 500 staff, of which 99.5% are Vietnamese nationals. WV Vietnam has 46 Area Development Programs (ADP). ADP is a 10-15 year community development program that is an integrated approach to community development, emphasizing the process of community participation, ownership and sustainability, while addressing the macro and micro causes of poverty. WVVs ADPs focus within one administrative district of a province which usually populated by ethnic minority people with very high poverty rate. In addition, WVV is implementing a number of donor funded grants and PNS (Private Non-Sponsorship) projects which are mostly integrated into current ADPs. Under the FY15-FY-17 WVV National Strategy fund acquisition and diversification is one of the strategic priorities for with the main objective is to increase the percentage of grants and PNS funding to better balance the portfolio. Currently, Grant Acquisition and Management (GAM) unit has full time role of a GAM Manager within Program Quality and Resource Development Department. Given the increased prioritization for grant, PNS funding acquisition and Corporate Fundraising, this additional position was approved to increase the work force of the GAM Unit and tap new avenues for funding.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION To support the work of the Grant Acquisition and Management Unit of the Program Quality and Resource Development Department to design and develop Corporate, Private Non Sponsorship (PNS) and Private Public Partnership (PPP) and Grans proposals alongside sectoral specialists and Operations staff. This position is directly reporting the GAM manager and will have a strong focus on Corporate Funding, Private Non-Sponsorship Fund raising, Partnership and Consortia development. He/she may be tapped to lead grant proposals development if the need arises. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Resource Acquisition Strategy Contribute to the objectives of the GAM Unit in the acquisition of new corporate grants and PPP initiatives, as well as providing assistance (as needed) on bilateral and multilateral revenue streams. Lead Private Public Partnerships opportunity tracking and development. Work with World Vision Vietnam technical managers/specialists and Support Offices to develop high quality, innovative proposals. Act as overall coordinator between Support Offices, partners, Quality Assurance and Integrated Programs during the design process until project start up for assigned proposals. Partnership Development Develop WVV partnering process map and recommend localize policy for approval.
Develop and update partner maps and identify critical partners for consortia to prepositioning for grants, including but not limited to locally based INGOs and local NGOs. Conduct due diligence exercises for partners involved in new proposal development. Ensure that partner relations are well managed maintained. Create a clear and structured communication strategy to engage with corporate partners aligned with World Vision Viet Nams GAM business plan Develop and implement corporate engagement plan. Discussions and follow up with corporate partners when setting up a partnership program Donor Relations Contribute to the development of the annual donor engagement plan and work under the guidance of the GAM manager to ensure donor meetings are scheduled and post donor visit action plans are followed up and implemented in a timely manner. Develop and maintain strong relationships with principal donors and understand donors emerging priorities. Donor Relations Ensure that all project designs and implementation activities are compliant to local laws and provide advice if not. Work with project team in ensuring they know and are compliant to donor regulations.
Coordinate with donors on any compliance issues JOB REQUIREMENT The following knowledge, skills and abilities may be acquired through a combination of formal schooling, self-education, prior experience, or on the job training: A Bachelor degree in management, marketing, mass communications, development, or related field; Computer literate (MS Word/Excel) Excellent organizational and time management skills. Excellent interpersonal and English written and oral communication skills. Proven analytical/problem-solving abilities. Cross-cultural experience, understanding and sensitivity Proposal, grant and/or tender writing Understanding of monitoring and evaluation Research, data and information gathering and analysis Experience in Corporate engagement or Marketing A minimum of 3 year relevant work experience Experience in project design and writing proposals to a high standard.
