PFU DRAFT TIPS Here are a few insider tips that will give you the upper hand in your draft this year. Feel free to heed the advice or just follow your own instincts. Either way, have a blast during your draft party. Tip 1: Avoid drafting too many teams from the same conference Since PFU s format is solely based on team wins rather than individual statistics, your goal is to accumulate as many wins from your roster of teams. So, try not to draft too many teams from the same conference - especially within the same division of the same conference (e.g., drafting two or more teams from the SEC-West Division). You don t want your own teams going for the same win. Tip 2: Don t overlook small conferences You can rack up some serious wins from those non-aq (automatic qualifier) conferences, such as the Mountain West or Conference USA. Don t spend too much time focused on just the big conferences Just win, baby! Tip 3: Pay attention to bye weeks Pay attention to the bye weeks of the teams you want to draft. In Head to Head leagues, you don t want to be stuck with multiple teams with the same bye week, since it could put you in the loss column without much of a chance to win on that particular week. Tip 4: Focus on your final picks Too many players focus on who they ll select in the first couple of rounds while ignoring the teams that will be available in the later rounds. This is a crucial mistake. To be a champion, it takes solid performance from teams you select in the first few rounds as well as the last. Imagine if you have some insider knowledge about a team like Duke or Idaho, who most players have passed on in the middle rounds. Then they turn around and ring up 5+ wins while someone else has taken Western Kentucky and only earning 2+ wins. Advantage: You.
