The description of the contest. The Design Battles is first and foremost a great fun with graphic design. The contest aims at encouraging you, graphic designers, to broaden your horizons, to polish your skills and to inspire you to work on your abilities. Your task is to create your own graphic interpretation of the Projections' logo in accordance with a layout available to download from the official website of the conference. The idea and creativity are the key criterion, however the quality of the finished work is also crucial. Apart from submitting the logo interpretation, the participant is also required to attach an example of inspiration which initiated the creative process. By doing that, we all can see the big picture consisting of the Inspiration and its Interpretation. 20 projects which the Jury will find as the most interesting ones will be displayed at the exhibition during the conference on the 5th of November 2016 at Concordia Design. The winner of the Battles will be chosen during the conference by everyone who will take part in the Projections event and vote, and receive a Projections' statuette. The contest begins on: 15.09.2016. The submission begins on: 15.10.2016
Rules: 1. The Promoter. The Promoter of the "Design Battles" is: Kommunikat Jakub Rutkowski, ul. 27 stycznia 65, 4-980 Trzcianka, NIP: 763-197-13-14 on the behalf of the rest of the organisers of the Projections event, which will take place on the 5th of November 2016 in Poznań, Poland. 2. The aim and the contest entry. The aim of the contest is to create one's own graphic interpretation of the Projections' logo in accordance with a layout provided by the Promoter. 3. The form of the Contest and the Contestants. 1. 1The two-stage Contest is open to residents of all of the countries located in Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, South America and Australia. 2. The Contest is designated for a Professional - a legal person, a legal partnership, a private limited company and a graphic design student. 3. The Contest is designated for the Contestants aged 18 or over. 4. The Promoter stipulates a right to invite particular graphic designers to enter the Contest.
4. The conditions of the Contest. 1. All entries must be made directly by the person entering the Competition. Only one entry will be accepted per person. Multiple entries from the same person will be disqualified. 2. The Contestant is obliged to submit one project made in accordance with a layout provided by the Promoter and available to download from the following website: www.. 3. An entry must be submitted as a vector file in AI, PDF or JPG of 300 DPI in the same size as the provided layout (bitwy_szablon.ai) using the online form provided on the website:. 4. By entering the Competition and sending the submission, The Contestant declares that: a) he/she shall be deemed to have read, understood and accepted the Terms and Conditions; b) he/she is the sole author and the owner of the copyrights; his/her entry is original, their wholly owned creation and made without the inclusion of material owned by any third party; he/ she will keep the Promoter harmless from any claims in relation to their entry alleging that the entry infringes the personal and proprietary right of any other person; c) d) he/she shall include the credits (the source and the author) of the inspiration included to the submission; he/she is granted permission by a person who appear on a particular photograph for a public distribution.
5. The Prompter will not give back the Contestants any expenses resulting from his/her entering the Contest 6. The Jury will select 20 projects among all of submissions. The selected projects will be displayed at the exhibition furing the conference Projections on the 5th of November 2016 at Concordia Design in Poznań, Poland. 7. Each participant of the conference has the right to vote on a particular project among 20 selected projects displayed at the exhibition during Projections. 8. 8. All of the submitted projects will be showcased after the conference and the Contest in an online gallery on the Projections' official website: www.. 5. The deadlines. 1. The Template of the Design Battles will be available on the 15th of September 2016. 2. The submissions will be accepted from the 15th of September 2016. 3. The finalists will be announced on the 21st of October 2016. 4. The exhibition of the finalists' projects will be on the 5th of November 2016. 5. The voting for the winner will be on the 5th of November. 6. The Entry. 1. An Entry must be submitted digitally via an online form on the website:. 2. An entry must be submitted as a vector file in PDF, AI or JPG in CMYK of 300 DPI, 50x70 cm in accordance with the layout provided by the Promoter. 3. An entry is accepted to the Contest if the Contestant submit it between the 15th of September 2016 and the 15th of October 2016.
7. The Jury and the selection of the Finalists. 1. The Finalists projects will be selected from all of submissions and will be displayed during at the exhibition during the conference. 2. The Finalists projects will be selected by the Jury consisting of: Łukasz Słotwiński, Bartek Walczuk, Oskar Podolski and Angelika Gromotka. The key criterion will be: the idea, the quality of the finished project, and above all, the relation between the Inspiration and its Interpretation. 3. The main prize will be awarded to one Contestant in a public voting during the conference. 8. The Prize. 1. The Jury will select 20 finalists whose projects will be displayed at the exhibition during the conference. 2. The main prize in the Design Battles Contest is a statuette, which will be awarded to one Contestant who will receive the highest number of votes given by the participants of the conference during the event. 3. All of the Finalists will receive the printed version of their submitted project. 4. The number of prizes can be subject to change.
9. The Copyrights. 1. By entering the Contest, the Contestant warrants to Promoter that his/her entry is original, their wholly owned creation and made without the inclusion of material owned by any third party. 2. The Contestants will retain their author's economic rights resulting from a submitted project (on the terms of the act issued on the 4th of February 1994 about the copyright -DZ.U. from 2006, No 90, item 631). 3. The Finalists of the Contest will transfer the copyrights of the submitted project to the Promoter with no territorial limits and the number of copies. The transferring of the copyrights will be done in accordance with appropriate contracts. The copyrights transferring includes the following fields of use: a) b) c) d) e) f) g) h) i) recording, digitalising, entering the data to a computer, computer printing, reproducing by means of printing or writing to a magnetic storage or an optical disc, marketing authorisation, paid or unpaid lending of the copies, uploading the full or partial data on the Internet allowing the audience to download it on the computer. editing, which especially refers to adaptating, changing, using parts both on the Polish territory and outside. 4. The Contestants agrees that their projects will be published for promotional purposes of the Contest - the Promoter will include the information about the author of a given project.
10. Final Provisions. 1. Each Contestants enters the Contest voluntarily. 2. Submitting the Entry means accepting the Contest's Terms and Conditions. Each Contestant hereby agrees for processing his/her personal data, as defined in the Act of August 29, 1997 on the Protection of Personal Data by the Promoter and other legal entities acting on behalf of the Promoter only for the Contest's purposes. The Contestant also agrees for receiving marketing information electronically (as defined in the Act of July 18, 2013 about the provision of services electronically Journal of Laws from 2013, item 1422). The Contestant agrees for transferring his/her data voluntarily and accepts that he/she has the right to access and correct personal information and he/she has the right to cancel the agreement about the processing of his/her personal data and/or transferring the information electronically. 3. The Promoter reserves the right to display during the Exhibition the projects not selected by a competitive procedure but made by invited special guests (e.g. the conference's speakers). 4. The Finalists will be notified by email. 5. Any disputes over the Contest will be settled by a Common Court on the Promoter's territory. Issues which are not specified in the Contest's Terms and Conditions are settled in accordance with local requirements. 6.
