Larry Page Go Big Observation - many of our grand challenges are rooted in accelerating factors Are you working on something that can change the world? Yes or no? The answer for 99.99999% of people in the world is no. I think we need to be training people on how to change the world. Obviously technologies are the way to do that. That s what we ve seen in the past, that s what driven all the change. - Larry Page, Google Co-Founder at SU founding conference

Notwithstanding this amazing technological progress, humanity still faces grand challenges.
Technology is a resource-liberating mechanism It can make the once-scarce the now-abundant.

SALIM ISMAIL Exponential Organizations How companies are evolving in the face of disruptive change
20 th century models no longer work Old business architectures were about scaling efficiencies and predictability. Today, we need to scale learning and adaptability. - John Seely Brown In a world where rapid and disruptive change are becoming the norm, hierarchical, commandand-control corporations can t cope.

Why are we global? Humanity s grand challenges are global in nature. The minds to innovate the solutions are globally distributed. therefore, We must be globally distributed to support solutions that will impact billions.
Thus, To achieve our mission, we will develop a global network of local SU innovation ecosystems that are: VALUES DRIVEN: We aspire to leverage accelerating technologies that will address grand challenges; SHARING A BOLD VISION FOR THE FUTURE: We aim to galvanize communities around a bold vision for the future, centered on how to reframe global challenges as new opportunities; PARTNER ORIENTED: We do not want to do it alone. We seek to partner with existing institutions (accelerators, venture funds, universities, media, etc) -- acknowledging the need to catalyze nascent ecosystems, and also layer on top of existing ecosystems; INCLUSIVE: We believe that it will take many types of organizations and people to achieve our mission.
Why are cities relevant?
