1. Regular Governing Board Meeting Agenda 1.1. Call to Order/Pledge of Allegiance Mr. Gonzalez called the Regular Board Meeting to order at 5:39 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Ms. Soto. 1.2. Comments from the Audience Under comments from the Audience, the public may address the Board on any subject not listed on the agenclaan individual may only address the Board once under this item. Five (5) minutes may be allotted to each speaker but can be extended by a Board member, if so desired. The Board cannot act on non-agenda items and cannot respond to issues other than to provide general information or giving direction to the Superintendent to add to a future agenda or for the Superintendent to follow up with speaker The individual shall state his/her name and address before addressing the Board. Mr. Gonzalez asked if there were any requests from the audience. No comments from the audience. 1.3. Call for Executive Session Executive Session pursuant to A.R.S 38-431.03.AI--Discussion or consideration of Employment, assignment, appointment, promotion, demotion, dismissal, salaries, disciplining or resignation of a pubic officer. Dr. Reed stated there was not a need to enter into Executive Session. 2. Report/Discussion Item 2.1. Superintendent Dr. Reed mentioned the following: Dr. Geyer presented a dictionary to all 3rd grade students. Met with Principals to go over their goals. Received the scores from the 1st Galileo testing and they look outstanding, as compared to last year's first quarter data. Met with Music teachers regarding band. On Friday, Jerry and Dr. Reed will be cooking hot dogs for the students at TDS to celebrate their "High Performance Status" as defined by the NCEA. Introduced new board member, Mr. Fernando Villegas 2.2. Board Members Report 2.2.1. President and other Board members comments Miss Juarez was very impressed with Solar System at OGE Mr. Gonzalez congratulated and thanked TDS for their awesome job. 2.3. Administrators/Directors Report 2.3.1, TDS: Cecilia Aparicio, Kayla Porchas, Manny Valenzuela, and Hannah Cazarez Math Night/Math Challenge Thanksgiving Food Drive Sundragon Spirit Award

Spirit Song Cecilia Aparicio shared the successful Math Night they had two weeks ago. About 100 parents attended the event. Teachers taught the parents the new way" of showing understanding in Math. Kayla Porchas shared that couple of weeks ago Mrs. Felix hosted a Math Challenge assembly. All 3rd grade students were challenged to memorize multiplications facts 0-10. 4th-5th grade students will memorize the facts of 0-12. The students who meet the multiplication challenge will be invited to an ice cream social and their name will be placed in the Multiplication Hall of Fame. Manny Valenzuela shared TDS hosted a canned food drive. Thanksgiving baskets where presented to 10 families. Hannah Cazarez presented Sun Dragon Award to Cecilia Aparicio The students sang the Spirit Song to the board members. 2.3.2. SMS: Xiomara Garza, Yanetzy Ramirez, Daniel Hernandez, Carlos Valenzuela and Alejandro Lopez Odyssey of the Mind SMS students presented a powerpoint on What is Odyssey of the Mind? It is a creative program that helps student think faster and more creatively. Also involves Hands on Problem, Verbal Problems, and Long Term Problems. 2.3.3. DSS: Alan Roldan and Carmelita Brienza Fundraiser Student Council purchase of pumpkins pies for students Planned can food drive for Thanksgiving to donate to Precious Treasures 3rd grade field trip to ballet performance of The Nutcracker Sports Day on November 14th Turn out for Fall Parade DSS students talked about the following: Preparing themselves for Stanford 10 and AIMS test in the spring. School wide fundraiser raised a profit of $2738.00. The money will be used for field trips and various activities. Student council purchased pumpkin pie for their turkey dinner on Tuesday, November 20th. Planned canned food drive to help Somerton families that are in need. 3rd graders raised enough money for their first field trip of the year. They will be attending the Nutcracker performance presented by Ballet Yuma. On November 14th, DSS had a Spirit Day "Sport Day" Many students brought their soccer, baseball, and basketball uniforms to school. In the month of October they had a Fall Parade.
