Objective To engage in dialogue that improves collaboration between HFHI and HFH Affiliates in the Carolinas. Immediate Tactical Improvements: Collaborative Development Long Term Strategic: Coordinated Fundraising 2
Setting context: Fundraising as a Ministry As a form of ministry, fund raising is as spiritual as giving a sermon, entering a time of prayer, visiting the sick, or feeding the hungry. So fundraising can help us with our conversion too. Are we willing to be converted from our fear of asking, our anxiety about being rejected? When we have gained the freedom to ask without fear, to love fundraising as a form of ministry, then fundraising will be good for our spiritual life. Henri J. Nouwen, The Spirituality of Fundraising 3
Collaborative Development: Habitat entities working together to maximize specific donor opportunities or engagements. Coordinated Fundraising: Assuming a material gap in development potential is there a more elegant way in which Habitat entities would work together and agree to a formulaic sharing of revenues? 4

Closing thoughts Our discomfort with the tragedy of human suffering in the world must be greater than our discomfort with the anxiety we feel when asking those with great wealth to see the plight of those without much and to write a check 20
