10/21/2009 Really.what is I&O/iNet/IView/Superview? These are all synonyms and another place to view different types of results On the I&O/Superview tab, you will see the inet/ Interactive View The View is split into 3 different sections: The Navigator, View Window, and Filter Window
inet 101 The inet solution has been specifically designed for critical care pts by critical care nurses and physicians Some features include: Viewing of Direct Charting Flowsheet Interface of data from the cardiac monitor directly into I&O/Superview Integration between the order, medication wizard, inet, and I&O 10/21/2009
What does this mean? I&O AND critical care documentation will be on the I&O/Superview tab for NICU. NICU Go live is December 1, 2009 for nursing and NNPs/MDs. (24/7 support on unit until December 11 for Nurses, MDs and NNPs CNB2 On the I&O/Superview tab, patients not in critical care(nursery) will have the same view that they have today. 10/21/2009

View Window This is where you see the results. Results are organized by bands, sections and individual result names in time columns. After the display name of the result you can see unit of measure, if applicable to that result. Bands: section names Section: result display names Timescale columns Units of Measure
Section Formatting Light Blue Section: This is a section that is currently open and available in the view window. Yellow Section This is the section that is open at the top of the view window. Section Name without a check mark This is a section that does not contain any charted results for the current time period Section Name with a check mark This is a section that contains charted results that the nurse has entered. Section name with Red Exclamation Point This is a section that contains charted critical high/low results for current time period. Bolded Section - In the band, a section will become bolded, denoting new documentation, while in the patient s chart
The Filter The filter is used to pull certain results into the top results window for quick viewing of that type of result For example, if high is checked, High results will display in the top window and will appear in light green in the viewing window cells.

Split Screen Select band you want on top Click Split Screen icon Click in the white bottom half Click second band desired for the bottom
The Legend While in a patient s chart on the I&O/Superview tab, click Options from the menu bar at the top and choose Show Legend for a quick listing of inet symbols
inet Buttons and Icons Collapse Navigator Navigator window is displayed or hidden by using this toggle button. Split Window-allows user to view 2 bands concurrently Customize View allows you to customize your view for this patient or change your user level preferences As Of button Used to refresh the display of the inet Interactive View. Find Item drop down box: finds a specific result. click the drop down and type in the first letter to get in the neighborhood Seeker- displays colored graph of regular, high, low, abnormal, and critical results. Click in the box and the view will focus on that part of the flowsheet Corrected or modified results appear with a blue triangle to the right of the cell Filter and Seeker options are Lagniappe ways to view data
10/21/2009 BMDI Bedside Monitoring Device CNB5 Interface Allows the system to populate vital signs information from the monitor into COMPAS. Data is downloaded at least every 60 seconds The nurse must accept or change the data and sign it for it to become part of the record. Data can be graphed from the BMDI monitor interface.

BMDI Vital Sign Documentation Process Nurses will PULL the vital signs from the Drager monitor into the columns, review, and/or edit, then sign to the record
Clinician vs. Device Documentation of Vital Signs You can drill into results cells to see if results were entered by the nurse or from the device interface. Double click on the result and review the data on the result tab. If Source is Device, BP is from the monitor

Timescale Adjusting-1 st option Your default will be set to actual time in the Vitals band and hourly in the other bands but this can be changed for viewing this band: Click on Options, Timescale Intervals and select your preference for the view. This will NOT stick for next patient or band.
Timescale Adjusting-2 nd Option Right click on the time column to change to the desirable reviewing time. This will NOT stick for next patient or band.

Things to Remember for a Smoother Transition inet is just another place to view nursing documentation and results in Compas You will only see what has been documented NOT THERE, NOT CHARTED.. You can view this documentation from anywhere; in your office, home, or another unit prior to rounding in the critical care units 10/21/2009
Customize View Per Patient and Per User There are 2 ways to initiate the customization of your view that WILL STICK for all pts: 1) Click the icon that is even with the time columns
Customize view- 2 nd way On the menu bar at the top of the screen, click options, then select Customize View
Customize View/User Preferences As the physician, your view is set to see all fields that have results documented. The nurse uses this tab to pull a display name that has no previous documentation into the view to enter results. Click the Preferences tab to customize your view.
User Preferences Any changes you make here will STICK for you. Click on drop downs to view and select your choices.
Titratable Drips is a section in the NICU Vital Information IV solutions marked as titratable appear in this band when orders are placed.
Titratable Drips INET I&O2G Information about these IVs appear in the IV Drips section from the nurses charting in the Med Wizard. The volume given also goes directly to the continuous IV section of I&O.
