CLASSROOM GRANT APPLICATION FOR TEACHERS PROGRAM GUIDELINES Please read the following guidelines and attached application materials carefully before completing your application for a Classroom Grant for Teachers. PROGRAM GOAL: To provide an incentive program that supports Walton-Verona Independent School teachers in their efforts to implement innovative programs in the classroom. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Any classroom teacher, or team of classroom teachers, employed by the Walton-Verona Board of Education may submit a grant application. Each teacher or team of teachers may submit only one proposal each grant cycle. GRANT REQUIREMENTS: The proposed project must enable the teacher to implement an innovative educational program in the classroom. Innovative is defined as a program that is new to the teacher s instructional program and that the teacher has not been able to implement within the existing budget. Classroom grants are designed to supplement, not supplant the district s tax-based educational program. Each proposed project must include a measure of student success to determine if the participating students have mastered designated learner outcomes as a result of the project. Proposals for equipment and/or field trips will be considered only if the item or trip is an integral part of a broader educational program. Outside consultants and experts will be supported only if they are a necessary part of the overall objective of the project. Teacher stipends to implement or participate in the project will not be considered. TO INSURE THAT THERE ARE NO DUPLICATE REQUESTS YOUR PRINCIPAL MUST SIGN HERE. GRANTS PERTAINING TO TECHNOLOGY MUST BE APPROVED BY THE DIRECTOR OF TECHNOLOGY BEFORE SUBMITTING THE GRANT PROPOSAL. THIS WILL ENSURE CAPABILITY WITH THE DIRECTOR S COMPUTERS AND NETWORKS AND ENSURE THE NEW TECHNOLOGY IS NOT A DUPLICATE OF CURRENT EQUIPMENT. PLEASE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY DIRECTOR SIGN HERE. Page 1
