Schools for Africa April 24-26, 2015
Schools for Africa became the Society's first official international project in 2010.
From 2010 to 2014, members donated over $180,000 to the Schools for Africa project.
Currently the project works with 13 countries in sub-saharan Africa including: Angola Malawi Mozambique Rwanda South Africa Zimbabwe Niger Burkina Faso Mali Ethiopia Madagascar Sierra Leone Guinea Bissau
How will donations be used for the children? Use of the funds varies with the needs of children in the countries being served. Building or rehabilitating schools Providing clean water and separate sanitation facilities for boys and girls Supplying books, pens, furniture, and other school and sports materials
Impact More than 21 million children are benefiting from child-friendly schools Increased access to quality education Improved physical and learning environment Enhanced teaching and learning process

World WORLD FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM Fellowship Program Supporting the advancement of teaching worldwide, one learner at a time
1946-1948 WORLD FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM Began at the 1946 National Convention in San Francisco Four German women educators received funds from Delta Kappa Gamma to spend eight weeks of study and visitation in Sweden during the spring of 1948
1952 WORLD FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM The World Fellowship Program began an alliance with UNESCO to provide special help for Korean women.
1958 1960 WORLD FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM Present program began to take shape Agreement made with the Institute of International Education (IIE) to provide dossiers from which a Society committee could select recipients for study in the United States
IIE a private nonprofit WORLD FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM Administers the student portion of the Fulbright Program Helps students with enrollment, visas, insurance and transportation Aids students with obtaining grants to supplement the Fulbright stipend from many different foundations and organizations Delta Kappa Gamma World Fellowship Program is one of these resources.
Impressive Numbers WORLD FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM From an initial award of $2,500 in 1960 to now 881 women in 120 countries have received awards totaling $3,193,100 since 1960
