Also recognized were Sandra Knight, P.E. from Bradley County as the TSPE 2010 Outstanding Engineer. The Outstanding Employer was Aerospace Testing Alliance of Tullahoma. The Professional Engineer in Government was Chattanooga City Engineer Todd Leamon P.E. Shane Pike, P.E. was recognized with the TSPE Distinguished Service award. A Presidential citation was awarded by outgoing president Tom Needham, P.E. to Memphis', Loyal Murphy IV, P.E. in recognition for his "coaching efforts to make the state MathCounts Team competitive" at the annual competition in Orlando, FL. Presidential Citations were also presented to Cathy Nichols, P.E." in appreciation for outstanding and long term support of the society", and Joe Carson, P.E. "in appreciation for his support of Vols 4 STEM". Our Tom Needham P.E. was recognized for his service as President of TSPE for the 2009-2010 term. OCTOBER MEETING DIRECTIONS Direction to Union University Barefoot Student Union Building From Exit 80 B traffic from Interstate 40 Nashville Veer right at the exit ramp for Vann Drive and turn right at the four-way stop. At the next traffic light ( Chick-Fil-A will be on the right), turn right onto Vann Drive and stay in the right lane. Go through two traffic lights. Turn right at the third light onto Pleasant Plains. Go straight through the next traffic light (Country Club Lane); turn into the main entrance of Union University, which will be the next right off Pleasant Plains. Turn right onto Dement Drive, then take the first left--a driveway that serves the White Hall parking lot. Continue to the end of this driveway, bear left, and enter a larger parking lot. To the left of the parking lot is the Grant Events Center and the Barefoot Student Union Building. Enter the Barefoot Student Union Building and Harvey Hall/Auditorium is straight ahead after the 2 sets of double doors. From Exit 80B Memphis or Northbound U.S. 45 Bypass Take the Vann Drive exit ramp off of U.S. 45. Turn left at the light onto Vann Drive. Go through one traffic light. Turn right at the second light onto Pleasant Plains. Go straight through the next traffic light (Country Club Lane); turn into the main entrance of Union University, which will be the next right off Pleasant Plains. Turn right onto Dement Drive, then take the first left--a driveway that serves the White Hall parking lot. Continue to the end of this driveway, bear left, and enter a larger parking lot. To the left of the parking lot is the Grant Events Center and the Barefoot Student Union Building. Enter the Barefoot Student Union Building and Harvey Hall/Auditorium is straight ahead after the 2 sets of double doors. Southbound on U.S. 45 Bypass Proceed southward through the Oil Well Road and Union University Drive intersections. Just past the LifeWay sign on your right is an exit for Country Club Lane. Take that exit and look for the south entrance to campus, which is on the right. Follow the drive past the soccer fields. On the left is a baseball field. At the end of that field, turn left and drive in the direction of Miller Tower. Find parking and take the sidewalk to the right of a grove of trees to the Barefoot Student Union Building. Enter the Barefoot Student Union Building and Harvey Hall/Auditorium is straight ahead after the 2 sets of double doors.
