St. Marys Craft Show Date and Time: Saturday, November 4 09:00 a.m. 3:00 p.m. Event Location: 317 James Street South Featuring treasures from local and regional artisans. Lunch available to purchase. Free admission! Book to Movie Club Inferno Date and Time: Saturday, November 4 01:00 p.m. 3:00 p.m. Join us for Book to Movie Club. Members will read a pre selected book and then meet monthly (usually the first Saturday of the month) to watch the movie adaptation of the book and discuss. This month we will be watching Inferno starring Tom Hanks after having read Dan Brown's book. How similar is the movie to the book? Find out by joining in! Sunday, November 5, 2017 Legion and Air Force Veterans in Canada Remembrance Parade Date and Time: Sunday, November 5 12:15 p.m. Event Location: Town Hall Cenotaph, 175 Queen Street East Join the St. Marys Legion and St. Marys Unit #265 Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans in Canada Colour Party for a Remembrance Week parade and ceremony. The parade leaves Legion at 12:15 pm and finishes at Town Hall cenotaph. NOTE: Church Street will be closed between Station Street and Queen Street from 11:45 am to 1:00 pm, with parking reserved for veterans in front of the cenotaph. The session will consist of different stations, stories, and games that will enhance the child's sensory and literacy skills. The recommended age for Tinker Toddlers is 1 3 and the program will run for 1 hour. Parent or caregiver supervision is required. Tuesday, November 7, 2017 Techie Tuesday Date and Time: Tuesday, November 7 03:00 p.m. 4:30 p.m. Join Rebecca for Techie Tuesdays. This program is designed to farmiliarize children with new and accessible technologies like Makey Makeys, Squishy Circuits, LEGO robotics and more. Kids 7+ will learn valuable STEM skills (science, technology, engineering, and math). Each week children will get to play and learn with different technologies and activities to keep each session fresh and new! 10 children maximum Ages 7+ This program will run only on school days. Drop in anytime after school until 4:30pm. If the timing is right, there may even be samples! This month we will be discussing our experiences with Sweet Paul Lowe's Eat & Make cookbook. Want to join in? Friday, November 17, 2017 Kinsmen Santa Claus Parade and Lighting of the Festive Outdoor Light Display Date and Time: Friday, November 17 07:00 p.m. Event Location: 80 Water Street North Kinsmen Santa Claus Parade Begins at 7:00 p.m. It will be "glow ho ho" as the Santa Claus parade rolls through downtown and the Stonetown brightens with a festive lights ceremony at Milt Dunnell Field! The parade route will lead from James Street South, heading west on Queen Street through the downtown core. Those wishing to enter a float should contact Andrew Hodges at 519 284 2820. Festive Outdoor Light Display Evenings at dusk beginning November 17 Each year, Milt Dunnell Field (also known as The Flats) comes alive with animated light displays, including nativity scenes, dinosaurs, butterflies, reindeer and more. Local and regional visitors can enjoy the lights by car, on foot or aboard horse drawn wagon rides during select evenings in December.
