www.ndia.org/meetings/9880 awards & agenda awards banquet The annual Awards Banquet will be held on Wednesday evening, February 11, 2009 from 6:00pm - 9:00pm. The following awards will be presented this year: Rylander Award The Rylander Award, our most prestigious award, is presented annually to an individual who has made distinctive contributions in the areas of Special Operations or Low Intensity Conflict. Selection criteria include not only singular achievements but career and lifetime contributions in support of Special Operations and Low Intensity Conflict. In the spirit of R. Lynn Rylander s service, contributions must have been of the highest impact significant and lasting to the SO/LIC community and in consonance with the goals and objectives of NDIA and the SO/LIC Division. DeProspero Lifetime Achievement Award This award is presented annually to an individual who has made distinctive contributions in the areas of Special Operations or Low Intensity Conflict over a period of many years, i.e., over a lifetime. This award is a level below the Rylander, but senior to Achievement Awards and recognizes sustained, distinguished service. Achievement Awards These awards are intended to recognize individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions (singular acts or cumulative service) in the areas of Special Operations or Low Intensity Conflict, which are distinctive, but at a level below the Rylander or DeProspero Awards. Service in any capacity combat, support or otherwise is considered without deference to a particular category and nominations will be reviewed accordingly. tuesday, february 10, 2009 7:00am 6:30pm 7:00am 8:00am 8:00am 8:15am 8:15am 9:00am 9:00am 9:30am 9:30am 11:30am 11:30am 1:00pm 1:00pm 2:30pm 2:30pm 3:00pm 3:00pm 5:00pm 5:00pm 6:30pm Registration Open Continental Breakfast in Exhibit Hall Welcome and Opening Remarks MG Kenneth Bowra, USA (Ret), Chairman, NDIA SO/LIC Division MG Barry Bates, USA (Ret), Vice President, Operations, NDIA Keynote Address ADM Eric Olson, USN, Commander, USSOCOM Panel 1: Regional Views of Persistent Conflict Moderator: COL Chris Haas, USA, Director, USSOCOM Legislative Affairs LTC Charles Miller, Jr., USSOCCENT LTC Brian Petit, USA, Commander of 2-1 SFG(A), USSOCPAC USSOCSOUTH Representative USEUCOM Representative lunch in Exhibit Hall Panel 2: Technology and Persistent Conflict Moderator: Dr. Maren Leed, Policy Analyst, RAND Corporation Col Hondo Gertz, USAF, USSOCOM SOAL Mr. William Shepherd, Science Advisor, USSOCOM Mr. Richard Higgins, Program Manager, Technical Support Working Group, CTTSO/IWSP Mr. Bill Natter, Professional Staff Member, House Armed Services Committee White Paper Presenter: Dr. Miles A.
