TRAINEESHIPS OVERVIEW OF TRAINEESHIP PROGRAMME All young people undertaking a traineeship will be required to study English and Maths unless they have already achieved a GCSE A* C. It is expected functional skills will be the most appropriate qualification in the majority of cases, as part of a programme of study for traineeships. MATHS & ENGLISH High quality work placements matched to the trainees areas of interest and aspiration At least 6 weeks and no more than 5 months PLACEMENT PREPARATION EMPLOYABILITY TRAINING ICT skills Personal Development /Employability skills CV writing, interview preparation, job search and interpersonal skills Team working activities/skills SKILLS High quality relevant vocational Tasters in one or more sectors Skill required by the local labour market or particular employer (could be underpinned by vocational qualification) TASTER VOCATIONAL CORE COMPONENT
