MOST PRECIOUS BLOOD CHURCH A Christmas Concert Sunday, December 29, 7:00 p.m. in PB Church 1515 Barthold St. Choir & Handbells-Admission is Free CATHOLIC CHARITIES CHRISTMAS APPEAL For some families, the spirit of Christmas is difficult to grasp because of the everyday challenges they are faced with in meeting their basic needs. As our Holy Father, Pope Francis said, It is essential to draw near to new forms of poverty and vulnerability, in which we are called to recognize the suffering Christ, even if this appears to bring us no tangible and immediate benefits. I think of the homeless, the addicted, refugees, indigenous peoples, the elderly who are increasingly isolated and abandoned, and many others. These are served by Catholic Charities every day. The need is growing, and it is through you that Catholic Charities exists to be the charitable arms of the Church through the agency s programs and services. Catholic Charities mission is to serve those in need as Christ would have us do. As you go through this Christmas season, please consider making a financial contribution to help Catholic Charities continue to serve vulnerable populations that others may turn away. CHURCH CONTRIBUTIONS FOR 2013 Tuesday, December 31, 2013 is the deadline for receiving 2013 contributions to be credited to your 2013 record. Please place your contributions in the collection basket, or drop off any donations you wish credited for the year 2013 to the Parish Office before this deadline. They had fun celebrating the season in their PJ s and watching The Legend of the Candy Cane with a visit from Santa. It is a good and holy thought to pray for the dead. 2 Macabees:12 We extend our sympathy and prayers to the family and friends of James Hornak.
