Child.org is here to make that happen. We believe in working with communities to identify solutions that will work and change things into the future. We ask for a minimum commitment of two school terms, normally about six months. SEED Madagascar Stand 13 madagascar.co.uk SEED Madagascar is a UK registered charity working in Madagascar in close partnership with a local Malagasy NGO implementing health, education, conservation, and sustainable livelihoods projects. We work in the Anosy region, a remote area that receives relatively little attention from larger charities or volunteering organisations. We pride ourselves on being a genuine grass roots NGO, developing projects in direct response to expressed local need, and in partnership and consultation with them. We offer four volunteering programmes, all supporting our sustainable development projects, with valuable input by volunteers resulting in tangible benefits to local communities. Volunteers are asked to contribute a donation to join our programmes and gain great experience in the field of international development.

Street Child Stand 10 street-child.co.uk Street Child is a young dynamic international development charity working to provide educational opportunity to vulnerable children in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Nepal. Since our beginning in 2008 we have provided support and schooling to over 53,000 children and their families, as well as building schools in over 179 communities. We are looking for enthusiastic, engaged students, who would like to get some experience working with an international development charity, gain experience in international development, or do some research for your degree. If you are looking for flexible volunteering in the UK, you can join Street Child as a volunteer speaker, engaging community groups in your university and local area in the work the charity does or support at one of our London-based events. Teach A Man To Fish Stand 2 teachamantofish.org.uk Application deadline: 10 February 2017 Teach A Man To Fish believes education is the key to tackling global youth unemployment and poverty. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers for two days per week over a three-month period. You will work in our Finsbury Park office and play a key role in a wide variety of tasks and projects, based on your interests. This is a great opportunity if you are keen to gain some quality, office-based experience in the international development sector working for a charity with a global reach and/or interested in entrepreneurialism and startups, particularly as a method of fighting poverty.

Village Service Trust Stand 1 villageservicetrust.org.uk Village Service Trust works in south India on issues including livelihoods, health, gender and caste discrimination. We are looking for a graduate with relevant academic experience to undertake a voluntary placement with our partner from autumn 2017. The core responsibilities are helping to develop fundraising strategies, supporting project evaluation efforts, writing material for newsletters and other media, and working with local staff in a range of tasks. The placement will provide the successful candidate with experience of developing fundraising strategies, project management, monitoring and evaluation processes, and the opportunity to build relationships with the range of consultants, donors and organisations with which we work. Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) Stand 22 vsointernational.org Application deadline: At least three months before placement VSO is an international development charity that has engaged over 43,000 volunteers to work on international development programmes in more than 120 countries impacting almost two million lives since it began in 1958. VSO also delivers the International Citizen Service (ICS) programme which is a once-in-alifetime volunteering opportunity open to all 18-25 year olds volunteers and 23-35 year olds team leaders and funded by the UK Government. ICS brings together young people from the UK and developing countries to volunteer in some of the world s poorest communities in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Whilst our scientists work to find a cure for paralysis, we have made it our mission to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities through the provision of wheelchairs and rehabilitation. We are looking for LSE volunteers at any time throughout the year, but primarily in the summer of 2017. In particular, we are looking for volunteers to fill the following roles: Events, Marketing and Fundraising Communications, Social Media and Design Operations, Financial Analysis and Data Management Wonder Foundation Stand 21 wonderfoundation.org.uk Wonder Foundation is an educational charity, with a main focus on women and children. We partner with local projects, rooted in their local communities, in the Philippines, Nigeria, DR Congo, Guatemala, and closer to home in London, to respond to local needs. This includes wellbeing education, schooling, vocational and livelihood training and other areas of social support. We choose partners who incorporate key elements in their work that we know gives education initiatives a longer-term impact, such as mentoring. We support our partners so that they can do their work more effectively and increase their impact. This includes provision of resources, capacity building, and amplifying their voices and those of the people who they work with to raise awareness of the issues they face and share knowledge of how to address them.
