European Helicobacter Study Group (EHSG) XVIII International Workshop Gastrointestinal Pathology and Helicobacter 2 nd ANNOUNCEMENT Falconer Center, Copenhagen, Denmark October 12 14, 2005

INVITATION TO COPENHAGEN Dear colleagues and friends, It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the XVIII International Workshop Gastrointestinal Pathology and Helicobacter to be held in the Falconer Centre in Copenhagen, Denmark, October 13 th and 14 th, 2005. Many of you may already know Copenhagen, from previous visits, as an international metropolis with an informal attitude, yet it is an international city, more than 800 years old and has one of the oldest Universities in Europe. Copenhagen combines old traditions with globalization and development. This is well known from the international design and it hosts one of the world s largest biotechnology centres, the Medicon Valley, a collaboration between institutions and companies located around Oresund. The meeting is taking place in Falconer Centre which is situated only a few kilometres from the city centre in an area called Frederiksberg, which is known for its theatres, restaurants and the zoo. Further informations about Copenhagen can be found on www.visitcopenhagen.dk. On Wednesday, October 12 th, there will be an opening reception (dinner) at the Town Hall of Copenhagen. This will be followed by two days of intensive scientific informations presented as a mixture of plenary sessions, special parallel sessions and poster rounds. The purpose of The International Workshop is to offers the most comprehensive and most distinctly interdisciplinary scientific updates on Helicobacter infections. The EHSG finds that this purpose has been achieved in previous years because of your valuable contributions and active participation in this event and we are confident that this will continue in the future. We attach great importance to the participation in this workshop by young scientists especially from Eastern Europe and developing countries by giving the opportunity to apply for reduced registration fee and by giving special awards for the best abstract submitted from these countries. Please refer to the EHSG homepage for more information and the latest news on the workshop. If you have specific questions please contact us on ehsg2005@medacad.org. We are looking forward to seeing you in Copenhagen in October 2005. Leif Percival Andersen Karen Krogfelt & Peter Bytzer President of EHSG Scientific Secretaries
