Day in and day out, our talented employees are there to guide people through some of life s most intense and stressful situations. EMS Week honors and brings forth national recognition to the many ways you devote your lives and time to providing excellent patient care to the lives of Mecklenburg County residents and visitors. As our way of saying thank you and celebrating how much you truly mean to this Agency, Medic employees and their immediate family members are invited to come out this week and enjoy the festivities! will come to a close this Friday, May 25 th with the new Medic Dodgeball Tournament. Schedule of Events The PR department has put together the following schedule to help Medic employees stay in the loop of all the pre-planned activities for the extravaganza. The majority of activities will take place in the Bay Areas of Building #1 and Building #2 of Post 100. The lineup has been set, the activities are in place are you ready for? Gift Distribution This year s EMS week gifts will be distributed during the cookout dates (Tuesday, May 21 st and Thursday, May 23 rd ) to employees who submitted their gift choice by the required April 25 th deadline. Please be sure to visit the EMS Week Gift Distribution table between the hours of 11:00 am 8:00 pm in the Bay Area of Building #2. Employees must sign for their EMS Week gift. Medic is excited to announce that Randy Mantooth aka Johnny Gage from the 1970s hit TV show Emergency! will serve as the keynote speaker for this year s Employee Recognition Ceremony! Dodgeball Tournament Signup Deadline is THIS WEDNESDAY! Be sure to gather up your co-workers and create your team to participate in this year s Medic Dodgeball Tournament! Key Points to Remember: Tournament is from 3:30 5:30 pm on Friday, May 24 th ALL team members must be Medic employees No more than six people per team & each team must have at least two female team members No headshots Register your team via the hard copy sheets by the Logistics window, back hallway or the Extranet Participants must bring a signed waiver form to the tournament Please be sure to read the complete list of rules and regulations via the link above This Wednesday, May 22 nd is the last day to register your team for the Medic Dodgeball Tournament. Prizes, Prizes and More Prizes! Want the chance to win some really cool prizes? Keep reading and see how! Each employee will receive one raffle ticket per EMS event (not one raffle ticket per person). At the end of EMS week, you have the option to submit your raffle tickets for the chance to win some really cool prizes like the ones seen in this article. So, attend all that EMS Week has to offer and be sure to hold on to your raffle tickets! Limit one prize win per employee. MAD Golf Outing It s that time of year again! The 11 th annual MAD (Medic Ambulance Drivers) golf outing will take place on Monday, June 3 rd. Join us as we tee off in support of a good cause. The cost is $60/per person. As part of the EMS Week Special festivities, a limited form of the Medic Store will be open for employee purchase, Tuesday, May 21 st and Wednesday, May 23 rd from 11:00 am 8:00 pm. The Medic Store During this time, employees can purchase general, instock items from the Medic Store. These items will include: hats (adjustable and fitted), t-shirts and pens. Employees will also have the option to browse (through catalog) specialty items such as Medic-embroidered polo shirts, duffle bags, fleece, etc. and make arrangements for purchase. If you are planning to purchase from the Medic Store during EMS Week, please be reminded that CASH will be the only acceptable form of payment. 2012 Top Call Nominations It s that time of year again nominations are now open for the 2012 Top Call Award! Employees are encouraged to nominate their peers for call(s) that are above and beyond the normal call for service. To fit the Top Call Award criteria, nominated calls should be notable and demonstrate outstanding performance either on scene or over the phone a call with outstanding scene/phone management. Recipients of the 2012 Top Call Award will be honored at this year s Employee Recognition Ceremony.
