Job Title: Air Operations Center (AOC) Response Cell (RC) Senior Offensive Duty Officer (SODO) Location: Hurlburt Field, FL Experience: In-depth, understanding of current airpower capabilities, doctrine and TTPs Understanding of current AOC SODO team duties with emphasis on Dynamic Targeting Processes Ability to use the AOD to evaluate the ATO in progress to ensure that all preplanned and immediate taskings are attainable and remain compatible with the current tactical situation Ability to work closely with specialty and support teams, component coalition/pn/oga LNOs, and others to ensure the effective application of air, space, and cyberspace operations power Familiarity with the duties and functions of the CCO, SADO, SIDO and subordinate Offensive duty officers o 5 years minimum, broken down as follows: Minimum of 3 years progressive AOC experience working as a Combat Operations Duty Officer (examples FDO, SEAD DO, TCT Chief, Interdiction DO, CAS DO) and culminating as SODO or CCO Plus a minimum of 2 years as Offensive Operations Team Mentor, Offensive Operations White Cell member or AOC Combat Ops Instructor Understanding of AOD and ATO, form, functions and planning methodology with emphasis on the development of AOD, MAAP, ATO, SPINS, ACO and the ATO/ACO change processes Demonstrated ability to conduct a Combat Ops change-over briefing. o 5 years experience working with AOD, ATO, ACO and SPINS In-depth knowledge of TBMCS planning and execution applications with emphasis on C2PC, JADOCS, ESTAT and mirc; or NATO equivalent tools for operational mission monitoring, assessment and coordination Familiarity with COP, RAAP and TAAP applications Familiarity with airspace planning and de-confliction applications Familiarity with Air Force, joint and combined surveillance and command and control systems and capabilities o 5 years total experience working with operational level Air Power Command and Control Systems (US or allied); a minimum of 3 years experience working with TBMCS 1.1 or 1.2 Knowledge of AOC exercises and exercise constructs including Live, Virtual, Constructive and combinations Knowledge of MSEL processes Understand the capabilities and limitations of AWSIM and PTT for the doctrinally correct presentation of airpower
Participation in a minimum of 5 AOC exercises or large scale AOC experiments or Joint training events employing over 250 simulated airpower sorties per day in any of the following duty positions: o SODO, SODO Mentor, or AOC white cell/response cell working with an AOC Offensive Operations cell (M) o Experience as an exercise designer / planner /director (HD) Skill in designing and conducting comprehensive studies, and preparing solutions to resolve substantive problems and issues of effectiveness and efficiency of work operations in a major program Ability to plan, to organize, and to negotiate effectively with junior or senior analysts and management to accept and implement recommendations, where proposals involve substantial resources, and require extensive changes in established concepts and procedures Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, ability to negotiate complex issues, and to maintain good working relationships Ability to manage a project to keep it on timeline and cost o 2 years experience supporting the planning and development of exercises OR operational experiments (M). o Demonstrated ability to draft after-action and/or operational assessment reports (HD) o Demonstrated ability using project management tools (i.e. Microsoft Project or Bamboo Project Management Suite) in support of over-all project management (HD) Proficient with Microsoft Office products. Candidates must meet the Government mandated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) criteria detailed below and DoD security clearance requirements. Our team is seeking KSA/clearance qualified and interested candidates to support the AOC RC; one individual will be selected as the task lead fulfilling this position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The SODO is the focal point of the AOC RC. The SME must know the details of each position he is responsible for; CASDO, INTDO, BDO, CSAR, TST, EW/SEAD, tanker and IO, and have an understanding of the rest of the AOC positions supported by the AOC RC The SME may need to replicate one or all positions as appropriate during exercise execution The SME must have strike experience and be proficient in the Falconer Weapon System and a Subject Matter Expert in the use of all common tools used on an AOC Ops floor The SME performs duties of the CCO as required. Ensure timely and effective use of assigned assets. Manage/monitor assets and assesses how changes/deviations affect the ATO When changes are required, the SME researches available options and makes necessary adjustments Ensure that any change to mission tasking is coordinated with affected duty officers/technicians, controlling agencies and ICCs Receive and process ASRs Provide operational expertise concerning the loss/degradation of capability, tactics, threat areas and use of assets May be required to attend planning conferences as the AOC RC representative May be tasked as the LNO at forward exercise locations to support the AOC RC. Monitor MSEL injects during exercise execution and coordinates with the Joint Exercise Control Group (JECG) when necessary to ensure training objectives are met If necessary, coordinates modification of the ATO/ACO products to ensure mission success Work closely with the PCF to ensure seamless and transparent replication of Air assets to the training audience during exercise execution Supervisory Responsibilities: Does this job have supervisory responsibilities?
