Internship with Elemental Water Makers Impact management of the implementation of a water installation in rural Cape Verde Elemental Water Makers (EWM) provides complete reverse osmosis systems driven by solar. wind and/or wave energy to enable affordable fresh water on-site. Our solutions solve fresh water scarcity. while only using the sea. sun. earth & wind. As a result of increasing fresh water scarcity and limited availability of fossil fuels. we came up with the solution that enables affordable fresh water from seawater or brackish water using only renewable energy. EWM was founded by Sid Vollebregt and Reinoud Feenstra in 2012 and is located in Delft. A video that explains the market and innovation can be seen here DESCRIPTION OF INTERNSHIP/RESEARCH ASSIGNMENT We are looking for a student to do an assignment. in the form of either university research or an internship. about the social impact of this installation. The village currently has water trucked from the main city and uses brackish groundwater. However. through the installation of EWM. local drinking water will be constantly available at lower costs. Still. the success of this project relies heavily in the acceptance and willingness of the local village. Therefore. we are looking for someone to advise us in our activities to allow smooth transition and operation. All aspects during construction and operation should be considered to have everyone fully enjoy the benefits of the new water supply. PLANNING Starting date: as soon as possible REQUIREMENTS Enthusiastic. independent and flexible profile required. We will party rely on your knowledge and execution of this assignment for the future of our company. This is a responsibility which should provide you with motivation. Because understanding of the local culture is important. Cape Verdean background/portuguese language skills are preferred. Do you want to be part in solving fresh water scarcity using only the sea. sun. earth and wind? Let us know! CONTACT DETAILS Sid Vollebregt. MSc. Clarification to Mobility 2016 Individual Mobility Grants For 12 Weeks or Less As mentioned in the last newsletter, from January 1st 2016 there are new rules from the EIT mobility actions. These apply to master label students only. Labelled PhD candidates follow different mobility guidelines. For mobility actions with duration of up to and including 12 weeks the maximum amount that can be claimed with receipts for subsistence per month is now capped at 500 /month. Travel costs for one return economy airfare or train ticket will reimbursed on the basis of real cost when receipts are provided. The reason for this is to harmonise the amounts that students are able to claim with lump sums for mobility longer than 12 week. Also, the 200 euros per month extra for internships does not apply to mobility less than 12 weeks. This is to nudge students to seek out longer internships where possible..for mobility actions with duration longer than 12 weeks the lump sums are the same under the GA 2015: Group 1 500 /month Erasmus+ Programme Countries with higher living costs: Denmark, Ireland, France, Italy, Austria, Finland, Sweden, United Kingdom, Liechtenstein, Norway Group 2 450 /month Erasmus+ Programme Countries with medium living costs: Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Spain, Croatia, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia, Iceland, Turkey Group 3 400 /month Erasmus+ Programme Countries with lower living costs: Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia Group 4 700 /month Erasmus+ Programme Countries or Regions from outermost territories: Outermost regions, Cyprus, Iceland, Malta and Overseas EU Countries and EU Territories For mobility destinations outside Erasmus+ Programme Countries, a monthly rate of 450 /month will be applied. In addition, students whose purpose of mobility is to do an internship longer than 12 week will receive an additional top-up of 200 /month. Please note that the EIT can change the mobility agreement guidelines at any time.

Event Management Internship Did you enjoy your time on the Journey? Would you like to gain event management experience with the most innovative and fun summer school in Europe? In the Netherlands we are looking to recruit an event management intern to help plan and execute the Dutch leg of the Journey. If this sounds like you or someone you know, send a brief motivation email and CV to gareth.wakeling@climate-kic.org telling us about your passion for entrepreneurship, love of climate science education and your awesome event organisation skills. The Journey Assistant will be required from mid May to mid August. The internship will be paid. While the hours are flexible we are looking for someone who has probably already graduated to avoid conflicts with their educational commitments.
