New TRFC and GofC Grants Completely replaces the old CRCID grant arrangement 5 year agreement with Government of Canada $12m to match Polio Plus donations by Cdn Rotary Clubs $1.2m each year for 5 years for Cdn Rotary Club projects Integrated with TRF Global Grant management process TRF process for all Global Grant project approval and monitoring/reporting First TRFC/GofC grant application Oct 1, 2015 (us!) TRF Grant Funding Model FOR A $1000 DONATION (to the World Fund/ Share): TRF keeps it INVESTED for 3 YEARS After 3 years it comes back: $500 into the World Fund for Global Grants, and $500 for District 5040 for local and Global projects District 5040 splits the $500: $250 for local project grants (administered by District 5040), and $250 for Global Grant projects by District 5040 clubs (DDF administered by TRF)
TRF Grant Funding Model Getting a Grant Go online to Rotary.org and apply for a Global Grant Enter general information and receive a GG application # Apply to TRFC for a possible GofC grant If approved by TRFC, add that grant amount to the TRF Global Grant application Complete the TRF GG application online Wait for TRF review and approval Ndandini Primary Students
TRF Grant Funding Model Calculating the Matching Grant Amounts To determine what grants you might get (for example, for our current project) Apply to District for potential DDF contribution (us$10,000) Add all Canadian Rotary Club donations (us$22,188) PLUS any District DDF to get maximum TRFC/ GofC grant amount (us$32,188) Add all Rotary Club and TRFC/GofC donations (us$54,376) Maximum TRF grant amount should be: 1/2 of Rotary Club + TRFC/GofC donations (us$27,188), plus amount of District DDF (us$10,000) = (us$37,188) Our Second GG Project

What is our New Project? Focus: Improving Academic Performance of the 1300 students within the Kyaithani Cluster 5 primary schools and 2 secondary schools (325 students) Deliverables: rent-to-own program for 1300 individual solar lights for students and teachers 1 computer lab (21 computers and satellite link) for each secondary school 9 month online certification course for 70 primary school teachers solar powered mobile primary school teaching aids Keen, willing & in need of help

Key Project Items New Partner - KenyaConnect - for IT support of labs New Computers - Aleutia low energy, fanless computers for best reliability Supplier - Stonehouse Ltd - to provide and install all the computer lab equipment and satellite link (experienced - installing 45 labs for Safaricom) Volunteer opportunity: October 2016 (after labs operational) to interact with students and teachers and villagers to attend the dedication of the computer labs to add on a safari? (own expense)
