Address High Hospital Prices with the goal to Pay-for-Value RAND Indiana Hospital Price Report published in September 2017 In process of Developing a Forum Hospital Quality Task Force Chair has been named, Melissa Marinelarena, Senior Director at National Quality Forum (NQF) A Call for Nominations to be a member of the task force was sent If interested in being on this task force, nominations are being extended to November 17th 13 nominations received with multi-stakeholder representation First task force meeting = December 4, then monthly until May 2018

Key Initiatives Where are we now? Address High Hospital Prices with the goal to Pay-for-Value Employers across the country wish to participate in our study next year Wonderful opportunity for the country to embrace hospital price transparency Provides Indiana with national price benchmarks Gloria Sachdev has been invited to present at the National Alliance for Healthcare Purchasers and the Colorado Business Group on Health in January to share the results of the RAND report and thoughts on valuebased strategies Ongoing discussions with all stakeholders regarding how best to design a benefit plan that takes into consideration quality and price

Key Initiatives Where are we now? Address High Drug Pricing with the goal to Pay-for-Value Numerous employers and their consultants had meetings with the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review (ICER) to better understand how a value-based model could be designed Recently, the Forum approached a large PBM and they are willing to develop, a first of it s kind in the country, drug benefit model based on the clinical and economic value drugs provide using ICER reports as the backbone Early stages of developing this model and engaging employers

Key Initiatives Where are we now? Electronic Prior Authorization for Medications Legislation requiring insurance companies to be able to send and receive epa written by Gloria Sachdev and State Senator Grooms Supported by many Forum members Became law, implemented July 2017! This initiative was a huge success due to all the work of numerous Forum stakeholders and is a wrap
