About the event Welcome message from the event s Honorary President Dear Investor, During 2010, Angola registered a private investment volume amounting to more than three billion US dollars, which enabled the country to be considered as one of the most successful in attracting private investment, by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (CNUCED). In fact and without a shadow of a doubt, Angola is positioned as one of the most promising economies of the next decade. Taking the previous perception as a starting point and considering the objective established by ANIP s daily efforts, in order to transform these figures into an even more promising reality for the country, the ipad Conference and Exhibition is a strategic, fundamental and powerful milestone for private investment in Angola, being supported by the National Private Investment Agency, in recognition of mutual efforts towards the fulfilment of the same common objective. Therefore, it is with great pleasure that, on behalf of ANIP, I welcome all those participating in ipad Angola Conference and Exhibition 2011, trusting that you will all derive maximum benefit from three days filled with knowledge sharing, creation of synergies and precise identification of business and investment opportunities within infrastructure development in Angola. I am certain that ipad Angola will be of great strategic importance for all the contributors involved in the development of infrastructures in this country and that, during the course of the event, another great step will be taken on the path that leads to the attainment of the objective to attract more and better investment into Angola. Therefore, the most important objectives around which this event was designed include specific investment opportunities, transfer of know-how in order to speed up entry into the market and make it sustainable, knowing how to transform each opportunity into a certain financial benefit and, essentially, facilitating your company s involvement in the shared and synergic effort to develop infrastructures in Angola. It is important to mention that this is not only a real but also a strategic example of the investment opportunities in Angola, as the aim is the redefinition of the Port of Luanda s strategy, with the objective to curtail the high costs involved with the materialization of the necessary investments. The visit will take place in the afternn, between 14:30 and 17:30, with the participation of Dr. Francisco Venâncio, President of the Port of Luanda.
