LHFORUM MOVEMENT FOR A POSITIVE ECONOMY SEPTEMBER 13TH AND 14TH, 2012 STUDENT COMPETITION A PROJECT LAUNCHED BY THE PLANET FINANCE GROUP AND SUPPORTED BY THE CITY OF LE HAVRE

Now that our world economic system has been called into question, it is important that we show the economy in a new light by launching the first International Positive Economy Movement, starting with LH Forum in Le Havre. This Global Movement will promote an economy that serves society, individuals and their projects; an economy in which the goal is no longer reduced to the maximisation of profit. An honest, balanced, fair economy; an economy that gives the underprivileged a chance; an economy that is environmentally and socially sustainable; a responsible economy.

13 & 14 SEPTEMBER 2012 LHFORUM AT LE HAVRE The goal of the LH Forum is to bring together all the parties contributing to a positive economy. A platform for the advancement of the positive economy, the LH Forum aims to illustrate how the development of economic activities can help to enhance communities, their environment and the general societal well-being. THE FORUM'S PARTICIPANT'S ARE MOST NOTABLY: Entrepreneurs, whose economic activities and practices have a positive impact on the environmental or social framework, Stakeholders in the social economy, who along with the entrepreneurs, ensure that the economy contributes positively to society, particularly in the areas of social cohesion, poverty prevention, education and health, Politicians, whose role is to put in place the framework for the economy to make a positive contribution to society and for the limitation of its negative effects, Economists and academics, who facilitate reflection on the theoretical framework of the positive and responsible economy.

A PROJECT UNDERTAKEN BY THE PLANET FINANCE GROUP WITH THE SUPPOR T OF THE CITY OF LE HAVRE Co-founded by Jacques Attali and Arnaud Ventura, the PlaNet Finance Group is the world s first global microfinance organisation. Europe s leading player and one of the world s leading players in its field, the PlaNet Finance Group works in every area of microfinance. With more than 1,400 employees and a presence in over 80 countries, the mission of the PlaNet Finance Group is to improve access to financial services for excluded population groups, allowing them to develop income-generating activities and improve their living conditions in a sustainable manner WWW.PLANETFINANCE.ORG The City of Le Havre has always been able to meet the challenges it has faced: from reconstruction receiving UNESCO World Heritage status in 2005 to a renewed industrial calling with the upcoming creation of an off-shore wind turbine sector. Today, strengthened by its quality of life, the City is actively involved in discussions concerning the Seine Corridor, which will bring a new dimension to the culture and development policies it has already started to undertake. Economic and human growth and the preservation of its natural environment are important factors in making the city attractive: Le Havre has thus built the foundations for its sustainable growth.
