LECTORS AND EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS November 2016 This letter covers the schedule starting December 3 & 4 and ending with the weekend February 25 & 26. With flu season again upon us, service of the cup will be discontinued on December 1 st and will resume on Easter Sunday. Accordingly, you will notice a significant decrease in the number of Eucharistic minister assignments. With the start of school, both the Teen Masses and the Family Masses will resume resulting in fewer lector assignments for the 4:00 o clock Saturday mass (Teen Mass) and the 9:00 o clock mass (Family Mass). Particularly affected was the 4:00 o clock mass which has more lectors than the 9:00 o clock mass. Because of this, one of our 4:00 lectors could not be assigned. Tony DiBiase was not assigned to lector at the 4:00 o clock mass this quarter. Please pick up your lector workbooks which will be distributed the first weekend in November. All workbooks are in alphabetical order with a name label. Please take just the one with your name on it. Last year we ran out even though we ordered enough. Most are aware that Christmas falls on a Sunday this year. Christmas travel and family plans pose significant scheduling challenges for Eucharistic ministers. The assignment of lectors is more easily accomplished despite travel and family obligations as there are few slots. Eucharistic ministers present a different issue because of the number of slots and the addition of several slots at Christmas Eve and midnight masses. Accordingly, signup sheets for Eucharistic ministers will be made available outside the robing room in early December. An announcement will be made at each mass when the sheets are available. In the meantime, please consider your availability to be ready to sign up when the sheets come out. As always, thanks so very much for all you do. God Bless.
