The Learning Programme Guide 2016/17 The Learning Programme is intensive and multi-faceted, with a number of residential elements. It includes face-to-face provided by the National (NU) and team based learning activities, led by the, with materials provided by the NU. All learning focuses on increasing knowledge and understanding, along with an emphasis on developing and practicing skills. The Learning Programme is tailored to the development of clinical competence for delivery of and it is expected that sites will also offer nurses local and learning opportunities in relation to their individual needs and the local context. s will use the Learning Needs Assessment tool to clarify nurses initial needs for local learning and at a later stage are asked to complete the Competency Framework for each nurse. complete the majority of the Learning Programme during their first year as a FN, however they are viewed as novices until they have completed a full cycle of the programme and graduated clients when children reach 2 years. As such, they are expected to continue to devote time to learning activities in their teams, led by the. The Learning Programme is regularly reviewed in line with new programme developments and feedback from participants and as a result, this programme is subject to change from time to time.
