Best Project Awards The buildingsmart Best Project award is granted to projects that demonstrate and inspire the use of open standards in the AEC and facility management industries. The intention with the award is to learn about projects that use the buildingsmart standards and publish them on the buildingsmart website in order to demonstrate and inspire others to follow their example. However, we don't only want to learn about the success stories. Thus, the competitors are also encouraged to bring forward problems and challenges where the standards or the software does not work as expected.
Evaluation The evaluation will be done in two stages. The 5 best projects in the first stage will go to the next stage and be presented on buildingsmart internationals website. In the next stage the winner will be selected from the five. buildingsmart encourage projects teams and operators to apply for the Best Project Award initiated by buildingsmart International. The applicants have to be full paying members of their national buildingsmart chapter. The project has to be within the geographic borders of the same chapter. The first annual Best Projects will be awarded at the international buildingsmart meetings in Toronto October 2014.
