OVERVIEW «ENTREPRENEURIAL POLICIES, TRAINING AND EDUCATION» During the last decade, economic and developmental measures have clearly taken entrepreneurial activities and education into account in Turkey. KOSGEB, the main body for SME development support and financial aid have established new programs, including support on R&D and innovation. Central Agency for Planning is transformed into Ministry of Development working with local development agencies. Creative Industries is a specific area Istanbul Local Development Agency is focusing with the legacy of ECOC experience of Istanbul, whereas several technology transfer centres are working with local universities in different cities. METU (Middle East Technical University) is one of the major who have a special interest for entreprenuerial training and education. TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) has opened calls for entrepreneur researchers of different levels and backgrounds on entrepreneurship. These activities, including the participation of GEW (Global Entrepreneurship Week) in the leadership of TOBB (The Union and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey) Turkish Ministry of Education: The entrepreneurship education is now taken into consideration throughout the school systems like in VET. Turkish Ministry of Education developed a new curriculum program for the entrepreneurship education. Tuzla Municipality has established a Youth Centre for Career Planning and Entrepreneurship for young people aged between 15 29.
NATIONAL POLICIES AND GOOD PRACTISES ON THE YOUTH ENTREPRENEURIAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING Turkey has voiced a commitment to foster a positive environment for entrepreneurship, and has launched a series of programs designed to foster growth and support youth entrepreneurship. Such programs include the Applied Entrepreneurship Education Program (launched in 2010 to provides at least 60 hours of training and can be arranged for general or specific target groups such as youth, women, or disadvantaged groups. the treasury support of 650 million Euros for credit guarantees for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)

Ministry of Youth and Sports «Applied Entrepreneurship Education for Young Entrepreneurs» The ministry of Youth and Sports in Turkey has been organising the entrepreneurial training programme all around Turkey for young people who want to startup their own business. The slogan of the programme is: «I am young I am an entrepreneur and I am strong» The name of the training programme is Applied Entrepreneurship Education for Young Entrepreneurs. Upon completion of the programme, the young entrepreneurs will have the chance to get the grant; 30.000 TL (about 11.500 Euros) and they can apply for 7o.000 TL (about 26.500 Euros) interest free credit to startup their own business by KOSGEB (the main body for SME development support and financial aid)
Tuzla Municipality «Youth Centre for Career Planning and Entrepreneurship» The centre has been established to organize free training courses for young people (15-29 years old) about career planning and entrepreneurship. The Enrtrepreneurship training course is included: - Applied Entrepreneurship Training - E-commerce, internet sales and marketing - Managing the costumer and supplier relationships - Managing the professional image and trademark - Managing the social media network
TOBB (Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey) TOBB Economics and Technology University (TOBB ETU) was founded with a keen interest to educate a new generation of students who will become the leaders of community with their spirit of entrepreneurship. The students are aimed to have strong theoretical knowledge, an awareness of the latest technologies in their field, and the competence to integrate their theoretical knowledge with applications of their professions. TOBB ETU has started the first and only cooperative education program in Turkey to reach these goals.
TECHNO-ENTREPRENEURSHIP TRAINING Entrepreneurship is a priority for the organization TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Council of Turkey). TÜBİTAK recently began to promote technology based entrepreneurship through its departments and with calls for proposals. The Support for Technology and Innovation Department has been providing funds for new techno start-ups also known as the 1512 Progressive Entrepreneurship Support Program since 2012. The Techno Entrepreneurship Training program is designed for those applicants entitled to receive funds from the 1512 Program.

LEADERSHIP, ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND TEACHING PROGRAM FOR THE NATIONAL MINISTRY OF EDUCATION On February 22, 2012, the National Minister of Education and the Minister of Science Industry and Technology signed a protocol agreement to provide training to school administrators and teachers employed by the Department of Vocational and Technical Training. According to the protocol, a total of 15,000 school principals and teachers will be provided with leadership, entrepreneurship, and teaching seminars over three years. Each week a group of 150 participants is hosted for a period of 5 days starting Sunday 5:00 pm and ending at 4:00 pm Friday
LEADERSHIP, ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND TEACHING PROGRAM FOR THE NATIONAL MINISTRY OF EDUCATION The Leadership and Entrepreneurship program designed for school leaders has three modules including Individual Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Corporate Leadership. Individual Leaderships motivates the participants, Corporate Leadership inspires schools and the Entrepreneurship module unlocks students potential.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP TRAINING FOR HIGHER EDUCATION ORGANIZATIONS TÜBİTAK recently published a new call for proposals in order to promote entrepreneurial curriculum development at the university level. As a response to this call, TÜBİTAK have developed a new train the trainer program at this level. The targeted audience of this program includes any state university willing to improve their entrepreneurial training. This is a five day program with a focus on individual leadership, technology transfer offices, patent process and applied entrepreneurship.
