Other successful applicants will need to self-fund their residency. Eligible applicants are also encouraged to apply for the Marie Edwards travelling scholarship, which offers a $2,000 grant to support overseas study in the visual arts. ELIIGIBLITY Applicants must be University of Tasmania Visual Arts graduates, working in fine arts, design, arts writing or curatorial practice. Preference will be given to Tasmanian Visual Arts Graduates who currently reside in Tasmania and who have not had a residency in the past 3 years. ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS Please list your Tasmanian academic qualifications including degree(s) and/or diploma(s) conferred by the University of Tasmania, or the Tasmanian College of Advanced Education (prior to 1980) Each Residency is for a 2 6 month period, commencing in January 2017. APPLICATION CHECKLIST Please provide the following with your completed application form: r A proposal that outlines your visual arts/writing/curatorial practice, your research and professional objectives, and how the residency in Paris will help you achieve your aims. Use the form provided at the end of this application. Maximum of 500 words. r A one page Curriculum Vitae that provides an overview of your educational qualifications; professional employment; major awards, grants, commission and scholarships; solo and group exhibitions; collections; selected bibliography, and travel you have undertaken. The Committee is aware that recent graduates may have a more limited CV. r Your first and second preferred months for the residency tick or highlight on page one (minimum 2 months, maximum 6 months). r The names, email addresses and telephone numbers of two referees. Your referees are required to send a confidential report directly the Secretary, Suan Lee, strictly by 5pm Monday 15 August. The postal and email address is on page 3. r Support material: A maximum of 10 images of art works completed in recent years. These can be presented as: A folder of good quality jpegs, each image labelled with your Name_TitleofWork_Year completed. This needs to be accompanied by an image list that provides your name, the title of the work, year completed, medium and dimensions. A PowerPoint presentation consisting of 10 slides, with one image per slide. Label each slide along the bottom with your Name, the title of the work, year completed, medium and dimensions using 14pt font. No image list is required if you provide these details in the slides. For artists working in time-based media and performance, provide a URL or a CD or USB that documents up to 10 projects (restricted to a maximum of 5 minutes viewing time). This needs to be accompanied by a list that includes your name, the title of the work, the year completed, the medium and duration. For writers and curators, a maximum of 12 A4 pages of content, in a PDF, that demonstrates your writing and/or curatorial skills. This may include catalogue essays and accompanying images of exhibitions you have curated, journal articles or other publications. Please note that unless you provide a self-addressed stamped envelope for return of support material your application documentation and any supporting material will be destroyed after the selection process.

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA Eligible applications will be assessed using the following criteria: 1. the creative and innovative excellence of your project and its outcomes; 2. the significance of Paris to your project; 3. how well your support material relates to your proposal; 4. the relevance of the project to your professional development; 5. your project s potential to invigorate Tasmanian arts locally, nationally or internationally; 6. the level of support from your nominated referees. FUNDING One applicant will be selected by the Committee to receive a $5,000 stipend to support their residency. All other residencies are offered on a Self-funded basis from (for a 2 to 6 month period) and all associated costs must be covered by the applicants. It is strongly recommended that you also apply for the Marie Edwards Travelling Scholarship, if eligible, which offers a stipend of $2,000, to help support your residency. Your project can be exactly the same as for the Rosamond McCulloch Studio Residency, but you will need to submit a separate application.
