The women return to action on Oct. 23 when they begin a four-meet home stand with a 3 p.m. dual meet against North Texas at the Student Recreation Natatorium. Vanderbilt: The Vanderbilt swim team made a splash in its first away meet of the 2015-16 season, defeating the Oregon State Beavers, but falling to San Diego State on Oct. 15. Sophomore Kara Lucenti had a great meet for the `Dores, taking first place in the 200 breaststroke (2:20.26) and 200 IM (2:06.18). Lucenti s time of 2:26.15 in the 200 breast was the eighth fastest time ever recorded at the Aztec Aquaplex. Vanderbilt had an incredibly strong showing in the 100 Butterfly as the `Dores swept the podium with Breanna Sapienza taking first place (55.39), followed by Kayla Moran at second (55.43) and Rachel Koch at third (56.15). The Vanderbilt swim team wrapped up their fall break in California with a competitive showing against the University of San Diego Toreros, but falling in a close 127-104 loss on Oct. 16. The Commodores started the meet off on the right note, taking the 400 Medley Relay. Johanna Goldblatt, Kathryn Coughlin, Sapienza and Moran earned the squad valuable points swimming in at a time of 3:52.904. On Oct. 24, the Dores will take on the Tulane Green Wave at 11 a.m. CT.
