KP Research Has Advanced Knowledge in Multiple Clinical Areas Just a Few Examples Immunizations Serve as primary data source & key analytic team for the CDC s national vaccine safety surveillance system Conducted large-scale effectiveness studies of new childhood vaccines Colorectal Cancer (CRC) National CRC screening guidelines were shaped by KP research Research found that almost half of CRC deaths could have been prevented through appropriate screening Contributed to implementing a robust CRC screening program that has eliminated CRC mortality disparities Cardiovascular/Stroke Implemented the KP ALL protocol effectively in community health centers Developed effective methods to increase adherence to cardiovascular medications Determined that relative risk for myocardial infarction is declining among HIV+ patients Genomics Designed high-throughput genotyping arrays optimized for East Asian, African American, and Latino race/ethnicity Developed framework for evaluating translation of genomic tests to practice Identified under-utilization of Lynch Syndrome testing 5
