Thanks to employees and volunteers for your efforts! Budget Hearing is June 7th, followed by the Council Meeting. Public is welcome to attend. Once the Scope of Work and Request For Proposal process is completed, there will be public opportunities to discuss improving safety and transportation around the Weston Middle School campus. Community input is necessary to access future funding and ensure priority needs are being addressed. Be on the look-out for surveys, public meetings, and other communications later this Summer and Fall. You could live anywhere, you've chosen to live here. East Umatilla County Health District Medic 400 PO Box 640 Athena, OR 97813 East Umatilla County Ambulance Area Health District ASA #5 The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Directors was held on May 16, 2017 at the District office located at 431 E. Main St., in Athena, Oregon. Present were Chrys Wernlund, Carol Kirk, Vickie Jackson, Jeremy Lasater and Elizabeth McIntyre. Also attending was acting Administrator Jeff Rost, office manager Donna Grimes and EMT Riann Roggerio. Vickie Jackson is working through Special Districts Association to secure a short-term loan if needed which will carry the new District from July 1, 2017 until November 2017 when the tax revenues come in. There will be a special meeting on June 5, 2017 to interview the Candidates for the Administrators job. Both the Old and New Boards will be taking part. As soon as a new Administrator is on Board, two more paramedics will be hired to fill out the crew. The Budget Hearing for the new District will be held on June 20, 2017 beginning at 6:00 p.m. The business meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. where the Board will adopt their first Budget for FY 2017-18. The District has opened a bank account the new branch of Bank of Eastern Oregon located here in Athena. There will be a CPR Training Class set for July 22, 2017 so if you need to update or renew your certification, please come by the office or call 541-566-3813 to reserve a spot. East Umatilla County Health District The monthly Board meeting held at the District office was called to order by Chairman Vickie Jackson. Present were directors Jeremy Lasater, Elizabeth McIntyre and Jim Marquardt. Holly Mays was absent. The Resolution of Dissolution is finished and will be adopted at the June 20, 2017 meeting which will start at 7:30 pm. The Board will call its final public meeting and they will approve the dissolution resolution, findings of fact, and dissolution plan. Within 30 days of adopting and signing the resolution, they will file a copy with the Umatilla County clerk, pursuant to ORS 198.925(3). Once the resolution is adopted, the Board of Directors becomes a Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees will meet once more to approve the bill of sale of personal property (old District Equipment and Assets) and a deed conveying the real property to the new District. The deed will then be recorded in the Umatilla County property records. The bill of sale becomes a record of the new District. Once the bill of sale and the deed are recorded, the Board of Trustees will sign a sworn statement declaring that the old District is dissolved for all purposes. Within 10 days copies must be filed with the Umatilla County Assessor, Oregon Department of Revenue, The Secretary of State and the Umatilla County Clerk. When this is all completed, the District will be Dissolved. The public is invited to attend the budget hearing on June 20, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. and the Board meeting to follow at 6:30 p.m and 7:30 p.m.

Someone is looking for photos of the 1973 parade with the float for Pioneer Queen Ruby Collins. Wasco County Pioneer Association would like to have photographs for the website to add to the history of the organization. We re also looking for biographies for many of the past Queens and Grand Marshals. The Senior Menu for Weston and Milton-Freewater is posted on Community of Weston s Facebook page, the city s newsletter, and at www.westonoregon.com under the Senior Citizen tab. The Food Pantry is located at the Franklin Street door of City Hall. The Weston Food Pantry will distribute food each month on the Saturday after the 3rd Friday between 10:00a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Citizens from Weston, Athena, Adams, and the surrounding area are welcome. Please bring your own bags or box. Don t be late. We must close on time. They have wonderful food supplies for folks in need. BUT, paper products are not part of what they provide. There are boxes for your paper donations in the US Bank in Athena and in the Weston City Hall. We appreciate your help.
