Mission Civil Protection protects citizens life, health and property from natural, technological or other kind of disasters (including chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear incidents) during peace time.
International Relations of civil protection By 1996 the responsibility of the international relations of civil protection was of the Earthquake Planning and Protection Organization. In 1996 the competence in international relations of civil protection was assigned to the GSCP Based on law 3013/2002 the GSCP: Is competent for the promotion of the relations with the EU, international organizations and relevant bodies of other countries in the field of civil protection Coordinates the provision of scientific support or support in means, materials, etc from other countries and utilizes such assistance to the country Coordinates the provision of similar support to other countries affected by disasters

Civil Protection Concept of Operation Basic responsibility for emergency management lies with Municipality. When the situation exceeds the Municipality capabilities, then it is the responsibility of Region, Decentralized Administrations Prefecture, and General Secretariat for Civil Protection, as the scale and intensity increases.
Civil Protection Operation Center The Mission of the Operational Centre is the coordination of all action forces related to Civil Protection, due to the General Plan XENOKRATIS ΞΕΝΟΚΡΑΤΗΣ. Mission: Coordination in national level of the CP action in emergency situations Communication with CP forces Coordination of available National CP resources and request for/offer of international assistance and its integration.
