Next NGA West (N2W) AE Industry Day Kansas City District 10 Mar 15 Informational US Army Corps of Engineers
Purpose To provide information to the AE community regarding this professional opportunity
Agenda Project Overview Key Milestones Draft Synopsis Summary Questions
Who is NGA? The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) delivers geospatial intelligence that provides a decisive advantage to warfighters, policymakers, intelligence professionals and first responders. Both an intelligence agency and combat support agency, NGA fulfills national security priorities in partnership with the intelligence community and the Department of Defense. Many of those missions, such as Global Positioning System support, aeronautical safety of navigation and precision targeting support, are accomplished from NGA's West facilities in St. Louis.
What is the Next NGA West? In 2014, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) announced plans to move from its current location at 3200 South 2nd Street and Arsenal Street in 2021. A series of planning studies, including an economic analysis, determined that it would be less costly, quicker and less disruptive to build a new facility than to modernize current facilities. NGA identified six possible locations during a yearlong study, and four of those will be studied further.
What is the Next NGA West? Building the Next NGA West campus is critical to maintaining the NGA mission in St. Louis and will provide an opportunity to support the next several generations and long-term vision for geospatial intelligence. The build-new decision is the best long-term solution for the agency, tax payers and national security. Building a new, state-of-the-art campus will position NGA to better meet future mission requirements through a more robust information technology infrastructure and collaborative workspaces.
Additional Information Project expected to be phased funded, FY17 22 MILCON Program. If phased funded, each year must fund complete and usable facilities FY17 is expected to fund real estate purchase FY18-22 is expected to fund construction NGA desires a turn-key construction contract with builder providing installed equipment, Initial Outfitting and Transition (IO&T), Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E), & postoccupancy O&M.
