Students only need to Tuesday, January 7, 2014 Due to the IIT Campus Closure, ALL Orientation Check-In activities are cancelled for Tuesday January 7, 2014 Wednesday, January 8, 2014 9 a.m. 5 p.m. Residence Hall Check-In (HOUSING CONTRACT REQUIRED) McCormick Student Students attending orientation who also have a housing contract in MSV, SSV, or Gunsaulus Hall are Village; Residence & able to move into their room assignments beginning today. Please visit the Residence and Greek Life Greek Life office to check-in before proceeding to your room assignment. You may contact RGL with your questions or for more information. You may also visit www.iit.edu/housing/, email housing@iit.edu, or call 312.567.5075. International Student Program for Graduate Students (Required for all International Students) 2 p.m. 5 p.m. Immigration Basics & Employment for International Students Hermann Hall All F-1 and J-1 international students are required to attend this session. Students will learn how to maintain immigration status and comply with U.S. laws and regulations. Students will also be introduced to the International Center staff and resources available through the International Center. Introduction to American and Classroom Culture Come and learn about basic nuances of American culture both in and out of the classroom. This portion of Orientation is designed to help you be successful both in the classroom with your professors and in your day to day interactions with American citizens. Page 2

This session is an introduction to Residence and Greek Life on campus, with an emphasis on transitioning to collegiate life. This session will focus on how to utilize federal financial aid award offers, how scholarships and federal aid are applied to student bills and how to make payments to the university. 1:50 p.m. Student Conduct Hermann Hall Learn the ins and outs and ups and downs of being an IIT student.
