STANDING COMMITTEES 2017-2018 AUDIT - Tasks: Complete the annual internal audit process by August 31, 2017; procure a professional audit if needed; Report audit findings and recommendations at the September 2018 Regular Meeting. Tracy Townsend Enders Lia Easler Veronica Farris MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE - Tasks: Under the direction of the ship, develop a written membership assessment, sponsorship, and retention strategy, and submit to chapter for implementation, to include making recommendations for intake, preparing intake budget for vote if applicable; planning and facilitating the sponsorship (e.g., training), profile submissions and election process of prospective NEW members for 2018; Facilitate the Chapter Mentorship Program; and Spearhead member engagement activities (e.g., retreat, member social activities); Plan and facilitate Associates Appreciation; coordinate with the GTRM planner in the programming of the luncheon for Incoming, Graduating Teens and Retiring Mothers as needed/applicable; assist in recognizing mothers

throughout the program year, including assisting in completing superlative submissions to the Region if and when applicable; complete membership mid-year evaluations. Jami J. Five Star - CHAPTER EXCELLENCE Celebration - Tasks: Participate in monthly Five Star 2.0 Informational / support webinars (National and Regional Webinars); Ensure the infrastructure is established at the start of 2017 and 2018 to document all efforts towards achieving Chapter Excellence by June 1, 2018, including completing assessments and application; to work with the Board, Communications Officer, and committees to ensure 5Star Excellence objectives are achieved on a quarterly basis. Assist in planning celebration when 5Star milestones are met. SERVICE COMMITTEE - Tasks: Present chapter-wide service project proposals to the Board and Body for approval; work with Programming and Charitable Contributions to ensure local, regional and national aims are pursued; Coordinate the annual March of Dimes activities: Present an annual report at the May Regular Meeting regarding achievement of service outcomes (e.g., community partnership and relationship, population impact, measures of success, and going forward recommendations). Roll out a MENTAL HEALTH INITIATIVE - Task(s): To raise awareness surrounding mental illnesses within the African American community in concert with MH Awareness Month (May, 2018) and the national and regional aims around the subject; Informs other committees on planning projects aligning with the initiatives; Advise Charitable Contributions Committee on donations aligning with the initiatives. Special interest in teen suicide amongst African American youth; post-partum disorders and maternal mental illness on pregnancy, coping with breast cancer, and early childhood development outcomes. Ensure each grade group in the chapter performs a community service activity during the program year. POLICY AND PROCEDURE COMMITTEE - Tasks: Recommend and complete necessary updates and amendments to the chapter s policy and procedures, based on chapter bylaws; Promote awareness and facilitate compliance with chapter, regional and national policies and procedures including grievance process guidelines. GRADUATING TEENS/RETIRING MOTHERS LUNCHEON - Plan the annual luncheon honoring the graduating senior teens and their mothers, including identifying speakers and putting together luncheon program; work with ship to include new members and/or Associates (Bridging Over Ceremony); purchase gifts for senior teens. GRANT WRITING COMMITTEE - Tasks: Prepare and submit grant proposals to the Jack and Jill Foundation by prescribed deadlines, e.g., December 1, 2017 or as directed by the Foundation through the Regional MAL; Coordinate with the Service Committee, Programs, and Charitable Contributions when applicable to identify the need for and pursuit of awarded funds for proposed chapter-wide and group projects. Tasks assumed by Foundation as needed. TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE- Tasks: To assist in maintaining the chapter s website, Facebook pages, and other technological vehicles aimed at advancing the chapter s brand and improving communication among committees, members, and community partners (e.g., GroupMe); To assist the Editor in compiling, reviewing, posting, and distributing the chapter s electronic news (e.g., newsletter) no less than quarterly; Continue to evaluate the potential benefit of technological resources (e.g., PayPal for Outlook, GoToMeeting; Slack, Election Buddy.com, and Eventbrite.com ) and on an ongoing basis, present recommendations to the membership for approval; Execute the implementation and training of these technological resources as well as assist in releasing public announcements and chapter releases as needed.
