Do you have a 3.5 GPA, rank in the top 15 % of your class, have an SAT score of at least 1070 (combined math and critical reading) or an equivalent ACT score of 23? Eco Club and Science club will be having a combined meeting on Tuesday, November 4th in Mrs. Kern's room, E214. All Eco Club and Science Club members should attend. There will be CANDY! Have you ever wanted to travel the world, discover new cultures, ride a skyline gondola, experience a maori village ceremony, and see wonders of the world? Well, now is your chance! Ms. Weinstein and Ms. Littig from AMS south will be leading a trip to Australia, New Zealand, and Hawaii during the summer of 2015. There will be an informational meeting at Avon Middle School South Tuesday November 4th in room A204 at 5:30pm. If you are interested stop by the guidance office and pick up the tour info today. Reminder for those students who are participating in a fall activity or sport. PE waivers will be due at the conclusion of your season. Remember to pick up a waiver from the guidance office or print one from the high school website. Rich Nye from Channel 13 will be coming to AHS for Friday's home football game versus Ben Davis to see what spirit the ORIOLE ARMY has. Our fans have made it to the top 5 for OPERATION FOOTBALL's Spirit Award and now it's time to show we deserve the title. So come out dressed in your best Halloween costume and a lets cheer our Orioles to a Sectional Championship!! Avon Volleyball won their 5th consecutive Regional Championship Tuesday night, defeating Perry Meridian 20-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-23. Avon was paced by 19 kills and 6 blocks by Beth Prince, 12 kills and 25 digs by Brooke Peters, 21 kills by Calle' Weddle, 19 digs by Kennedy Wilson, and 5 blocks by Hannah Eiler. The offense was directed by Darian Goins and her 50 assists. Avon next plays #1 ranked Roncalli at Seymour on Saturday morning. Hope to see everyone there to duplicate the GREAT crowd we had tonight!
