Opening Day Classes begin Monday, July 17, 2017 at the Highlands Ranch Law Enforcement Training Facility, 6001 Ron King Trail, Littleton, CO, Headquarters Building C, Classroom C-5. Cadets need to arrive no later than 0745 hours in order to be ready for the 0800 hour start time. Cadets shall be dressed in navy polo shirt, tactical pants, and black duty boots. CADET EXPECTATIONS From the Director and Co-Director of the Academy Congratulations on making the attendance list for the Highlands Ranch Law Enforcement Training Academy Basic POST Academy. Below are expectations for our first day of class: You will be supplied a uniform which will be neatly starched and pressed with creases Your boots will be shined to a high gloss Your undershirt will be navy blue in color You will wear a black uniform inner belt Your socks will be black Your haircut and grooming will follow the below listed standards; A. Males a. Hair will be neatly cut in a military style haircut. Hair will be a natural color to the Cadet. Hair will not touch the top of the ear. Sideburns will be trimmed to not exceed lower than the midline of the ear. Cadets will be clean shaven daily with no beard or mustache growth visible. b. Fingernails will be clean and neatly trimmed so as to not c. extend past the end of the finger. No colored nail polish will be worn. B. Females a. Hair will be worn so as to not touch the top of the collar. Hair will be a natural color and will be free of accoutrements other than basic implements which are not decorative in nature and are used to hold hair in place. b. Fingernails will be clean and trimmed short so as to not extend past the end of the finger. No colored nail polish will be worn. C. Cadets will bathe daily and will be free of offensive bodily odors. D. Cadets will not wear perfume or cologne in excess. E. Cadets will present a professional and clean image. No jewelry except wedding rings and a conservative wristwatch will be permitted. Anything worn that is capable of injuring another as determined by any instructor will be removed. Leave your duty belt in your vehicle. This is a physical academy. You will find it in your best interest to arrive in good physical condition. If you have to ask what good physical condition is, I suggest you start working at it now. Be in your assigned seat located in Room C-5 in the Headquarters Building at the Highlands Ranch Law Enforcement Training Facility no later than 0745 hours on 07/17/17.
