1.THE HISTORY History teaches us that the camp at Auschwitz, Birkenau and Monowitz, was the main symbol of Nazi cruelty. Opened in 1940, in the spaces of an old barracks, was used to cram inside members of the resistance, political prisoners and Jews. In two years of its opening there were approximately 20,000 prisoners who were taken to forced labor in the 40 km2 in area and satellite centers where prisoners were exploited for agricultural work in the service of the regime. The entrance portal emblazoned the motto Arbeit macht frei (work makes you free) torn at the end of the field as a sign of new-found freedom. The inscription was what the prisoners saw just got off the trains on the platform at 800 meters from access to places for torture. This was recovered in 2005 and placed in the path of what today has become a place of memory, one of the museums of the Shoah. 2.THEME Auschwitz is now a town of about 40,000 inhabitants, a small suburb of the city where you can feel the traces of a sad past. It is undeniable that the memory associated to these places still images of the Nazi extermination. Not to mention the time has come to rid the place to be this unjust ballast. We therefore want to rethink a structure that is an ode to joy, a space in which favor the aggregation and conviviality among individuals. We want to celebrate their identity, give redemption to those who in ages even so far has seen its dignity broken. The MEMORIAL

CULTURAL CENTRE will be a meeting space in the heart of town, a center of reference on an urban scale. Inside, creative workshops, a theater and an auditorium will become important social incubators. Both know how much memory will be the basis of future generations. There cannot be culture without memory! 3.WHO CAN PARTECIPATE? Participation in the competition is open to students and young professionals under 40, architects, engineers or designers from all over the world, whether they are undergraduates, graduates or professionals. You can take part in the competition either individually or as a group. You must elect a representative of the design team which will be made possible communications. There are no numerical limits for the pool which can also be mixed or composed of students, graduates and professionals. 4.ENTRY We send photos and dwg area after that send us in copy the receipt of the payment and the identity card of the individual participant or of leader s team to the email of the competition. -The payment can be made with PayPal; the reference mail address: archicontest@gmail.com

-For those wishing to pay by bank transfer, you may write to mail: archicontest@gmail.com and ask for bank details. The registration fee is 30,00 euro. For those who participate on an individual basis and are under thirty the fee is 20,00 euro. Registration is open until the last day of the contest closing date set for the day 02/01/15. After payment, there will be no refunds under any circumstances. Request is not made of drawings and are not provided PRG technical or extracts (sections, elevations, etc.) for not constrain the work of the competitors that will be judged also on the ability to find information added independently. Contestants can freely add or remove functions. 6.MATERIALS AND DEDLINES The papers should be sent electronically to mail reference (archicontest@gmail.com) no later than 02/01/15. They are part of the documentation of the competition: -MODEL A -A table format A0 be sent in jpg format with 150 dpi resolution, drawn up in a horizontal manner and with the upper right corner of an alphanumeric code (chosen at the discretion of the participants themselves) six-digit identifier which project. -A report prepared on an A4 sheet in Word format, with Arial 12 and a maximum of 3000 characters

7.EVALUTATION CRITERIA To make it as objective evaluation will be assigned numerical values from 1-10 which will take account of: functional quality, formal quality, inclusion in place, integration of messages with historical value, attention to architectural barriers, connection paths with the plant surrounding urban and project communication. The table of assessment will be made public to the communication of winners and any work mentioned. The remainder of the participants will be considered dead heat and will not be published in the final standings. 8.JURY The jury are you! At the close of the competition the images of the projects and the alphanumeric code will be posted on the contest page. In the period from 02/06/15 to 02/13/15 the papers will be published on the portal www.archicontest.net and www.startfortalents.net and the individual competitor or the leader of the group must send an email to archicontest@gmail.com where he will show us the alphanumeric code of the project in the race who prefers; you can only make one vote and can not vote for their own project. The preference shall operate as a final validation of the registration. is required to express their vote, those who fail to do so will be disqualified from the contest. The top ten will prove to be among the finalists and will be placed under review by the jury indicated below:

RESULTS AND AWARDS The winners will be announced on the website of the Association no later than the date of 02/22/15. Will be worthy of the first three works as well as any other projects which are not excluded special mentions. The first place winner will receive a prize money of 1000,00 euro (excluding VAT); the first three and for any projects mentioned can participate in all our future contests for free. We guarantee the dissemination of worthy projects on the channels of all our media partners as well as our site (www.archicontest.net and www.startfortalents.net) and in our social facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/start-architecture/469052166450469?ref=bookmarks. DATA PROCESSING: The association may use the individual proposals for the purpose of dissemination in any action it deems appropriate. Any use will be communicated to the participants who will be increasingly recognized intellectual property. Participation in the competition implies that each competitor unconditional acceptance of all the provisions of this Regulation pursuant to Decree Law 196/2003. 10.
