In monitoring technician activities, we ve used the PTCB competencies as the baseline for reviewing activity objectives. We are reviewing all learning objectives from specific activities to see whether they are appropriate or not for the technician audience. 24 8

QA Procedure Once activities are reviewed, they are separated into three categories: 1. Appropriate No further action required possible letters of commendation 2. Guidance Activity content is deemed appropriate, except for minor modifications(s) example: terminology modification, pathophysiology 3. Not appropriate Statistics: Letters Sent Learning objectives do not meet specific competencies and must be modified Provider is given 30 days to make necessary changes or open dialogue with ACPE (deadline provided in the letter) 129 providers sent letters 47 responses received *A letter is sent for any guidance or not appropriate categorized activity that is inconsistent with the specific competencies. 25 QA Procedure If a provider receives a letter from ACPE, they can: 1. Make the necessary modifications via the Provider Web Tool. 2. Open a dialogue with ACPE. ACPE can provide further guidance via workshops, consults, or calls. We are making every effort to understand the nature of each individual program, collect data, and report back to the profession. 26 Instructional Design Process at a glance Set mission & goals of an organization Definition of CE entails what CE is and the competencies for P/T To understand what the needs of the audience are, do a needs assessment! Plan your activity keeping the competencies in mind 27 9
