CSF battled to a 1-1 draw with CSUN in double overtime and clinched an NCAA Tournament berth after a 4-3 advantage over the Matadors in penalty kicks. The Titans earned a spot in the title match after defeating regular season champion, UC Irvine, 2-1 Thursday. The showdown was the eighth time the Titans appeared in the championship, the most of any squad in the Big West. * Regular season champion ( ) Big West Tournament seed This Week s Schedule Schedule Last Week s Results BERTSCH IS MOST VALUABLE Senior goalkeeper Morgan Bertsch received Most Valuable Player honors and became the seventh Titan to do so. The Co-Goalkeeper of the Year recorded a save in 110:00 minutes of action during the title match and stopped two penalty kicks to help earn the Big West Conference s automatic bid to the NCAA Tounament. The Titans will make its eighth appearance in the NCAA DI women s soccer championhship as the Women s Soccer Committee announced, Monday. CSF last saw the waves in 2014 where Pepperdine would win 2-1 in OT. CSF is 4-9-2 overall against the Waves in program history. The Big West is 0-2 against Pepperdine in 2017. UC IRVINE CLAIMS REGULAR SEASON TITLE UC Irvine claimed its third all-time regular season title with a 1-0 win over Cal State Fullerton in the regular season finale. The Anteaters add to its collection of hardware as the 2017 squad joins the ranks of the 2010 and 2011 squads.

Needing a win in the regular season finale to guarantee a Big West Tournament berth, Lindsay contributed one of four goals in UC Riverside s 4-0 shutout of Hawai i. Lindsay converted at the 62:10 mark off of free kick from Amanda Roy to give the Highlanders a 2-0 lead. The win locked down the No. 3 seed in the tournament, and ensured the program s third appearance in the last five years. Earlier in the week, Lindsay notched her first career goal in a 3-0 win against UC Davis. She converted the team s second goal off of a header on a corner kick in the 52nd minute. Lindsay couldn t have been more efficient as she scored goals on her only two shots of the week. The senior picked her second and third shutouts of the season as the Highlanders blanked both UC Davis (3-0) and Hawai i (4-0). The wins enabled UCR to clinch a berth in the Big West Tournament as a No. 3 seed. The team was in fifth place entering the week. Guzman made three saves against UC Davis and one more against Hawai i. Her four saves for the week gave her 44 for the season.
