Organization submitting the project proposal AMES Organization status Status of the organization Student club or association Statutes amesummit.com Statutes document Year of creation of the organization 2012 Examples of implemented projects The Annual Moroccan Summit of Education could have been easily stigmatized as another conventional event if it weren t for the type of activities we chose to implement for our project. In fact, we focused on keeping our even as interactive and young as possible. In order to do so, we preferred to have round tables rather than traditional conferences. Also, we managed to organize several workshops that focus more on the humanitarian and communicative capacities of the participants since it is one of our educational system s weaknesses.

Furthermore, we tried to make of this first edition a launching of a national platform for communication among several actors in the educational field. Therefore, our round table gathered university vice presidents, presidents, professors and human resources professionals. And in order to finish on a rather optimistic tone, we tried to have a networking evening we called: Success Stories during which we invited several young people to share with us their projects, ideas, talents and passions. During the preparation of the event, we faced many challenges we overcame. For example, finding contacts was an important issue, because we were dealing with professionals who had their own agendas and priorities. Also, attracting people s attention and ensuring the necessary amount of publicity was tricky thing to do since we were asking a fundamental question that has been asked several times before but in vain. Not to mention time managing because the scheduling of the event coincided with our finals. However, the biggest issue of all was having people believing in us and in our project, so we invite you to join us and we thank you for this amazing opportunity. Project Proposal Title of the project Annual Moroccan Educational Summit Executive summary Several conferences and sessions are conducted by professionals and the ministry of education every year and Morocco in order to improve our educational system. However, our event is organized by young students and for youth. In fact, we re asking a question that every student must have asked him or herself at some point: where s the problem? And like the majority, we noticed that our educational system along with many other institutions suffers from a lack of effective communication. Thus we decided to take part in this tremendous project that is the amelioration of our educational system. Actually, we aim to make it an annual communicative platform. Also, we try to invite experts and professors to offer a certain insight and scientific vision in a simple and clear speech that can be understood by every student. Main type of intervention Support for /promotion of youth-led action Main theme Skills Development Objective(s) of the project *Encourage innovation in education *Create a space of dialogue *Proposing to the decision makers new techniques in methodologies of education. *Encourage students to get involved in the decision making process. Our goal is encourage students to contribute to the educational system and give them a voice to express their concerns, in addition this forum will allow teachers and decision makers to directly reach out to students and discuss their feedback. Currently there is no forum in place, so this will be a first of its kind in Morocco. Implementation strategy In the years to come, AMES (Annual Moroccan Educational Summit) hopes to be a part of change process. We strive to provide a space for all parts of the educational system to learn from each other, advance the methodology of education, and amplify student voices. We aim to create a network, both of fellow students and decision makers, and resources. Moreover, we aspire to help create a generation of young motivated students who can solve problems and be part of the decision making process through national collaboration. Our goal is for the conference to become an annual event that pursues the improvement of education in Morocco as well as bring to light and discuss its main challenges. We

ourselves are youth and know how hard this is going to be. But we are still going to passionately and relentlessly try. In other words did we achieve the intended goals? Only then we can determinate whether our project is successful or not, of course evaluation comes at the end of the project but we also working very hard on monitoring step by step and making sure that we re on the right path.
