To: Applicants From: Scholarship Committee We are pleased to have you apply for the Alpha Phi Alpha Scholarship from the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.,. Scholarships will be awarded to those male students who have a proven record of outstanding scholarship, leadership, community service and financial need. Two one-time scholarships in the amount of $500 and $1,000 (to be distributed in two payments in fall and spring semesters) along with other possible awards will be available for the 2016-2017 collegiate academic years. Applicants selected as finalists will be interviewed before our evaluation committee on April 26, 2017. In all walks of life and at all times in its history, Alpha men have set the standards for excellence and service. You have been asked to provide a letter of reference for a person who is seeking the Alpha Phi Alpha Scholarship. As a person who knows them very well, your letter of reference will be a very important part of the scholarship selection process.
