RASIKA RANJANA SABHA (Regd.)., Estd. : 1914 (Regn. No. S1/31-32) Ph : 0431-2704736 146, West Boulevard Road, Tiruchirappalli - 620 002. www.rrsabha.in email : rrsabha@gmail.com CARNATIC MUSIC COMPETITIONS -2016 Rasika Ranjana Sabha is one of the oldest Sabhas in Tamilnadu having been established Hundred & One years ago. Over the Century, the Sabha has earned a place in the hearts of lovers of fine arts in and around Trichy area by its multifaceted activities for promotion of fine arts. The performance of the Sabha especially, after it had acquired its own auditorium is well known and has received acclamation from people belonging to all walks of life and from the departments of Govt. of Tamilnadu, South Zone Cultural Centre and Govt. of India. Rasika Ranjana Sabha is one of the very few sabhas being given the privilege of conducting the programmes sponsored by Tamilnadu Iyal Isai Nataka Mandram-Chennai, under their scheme of promoting young talents every year. On the same ideologies, the Sabha is conducting Music Competitions since 1984, to encourage students learning music both in Vocal and Instrumental. Apart from giving many prizes to the winners, under each category in various groups, from 1991 onwards, the Sabha is conferring the coveted title "SANGEETHA SRI" to the outstanding competitor in senior group. Also, for the outstanding competitor in the Junior group "L. V.Memorial Prize" (in memory of our former Hon. Secretary Late. L.Venkataraman) is given from the year 1999 onwards. As like every year, Music Competitions will be conducted during June. It has also been proposed to conduct a Quiz programe, from this year onwards for both Junior & Senior Category. The details of the Competitions and rules thereof are furnished in the adjoining pages. Response to the Music Competitions conducted by the Sabha is increasing year after year, as more and more students are participating in the contest, for all the disciplines. We thank the institutions and teachers who have sponsored their students all these years. We solicit the same involvement by the institutions and teachers this year also by sponsoring their students to the maximum extent. Rasika Ranjana Sabha owes a lot to the donors who have created endowments with the Sabha, for the conduct of Music Competitions, as these endowments, supplement and encourage our efforts in this noble venture.
