I was based in Juba (2006), Torit (2006/7), Wau (2007/8), Raga (2008/9), Kadugli and Dilling (2009/10) and April 2010 to June 2011 in the Blue Nile State in Sudan as the Team Manager for an Integrated Mine Clearance Team (IMCT). As the Team Manager of an IMCT, with a personnel strength of ± 42 staff, I carried out a number of tasks over and above my primary task of managing the operational demining tasks of the team according to International Mine Action Standards (IMAS), NTSG and RONCO SOP s: Daily Quality Assurance on all integrated assets and functions (Mechanical, EOD, MDD, Manual Clearance and BAC, Medical, Preparations and Set-up, Minefield Marking etc.). Non-Technical Surveys Responsible for the financial planning and expenditure of the team s budget. Responsible for the planning and procurement of all International and National staff. Responsible for the planning and procurement of all transport and logistics. Responsible for the routine refresher training and evaluation of all staff. I am a qualified EOD practitioner (level 3) with 21 years experience. 3

Responsible for the Internal Quality Assurance within my team. Responsible for the professional and effective execution of all relevant Tasking Dossiers and Task Orders from the client (UN) and clearance through the Land Release system. Responsible for proper surveys of allocated tasks. Responsible to submit an Implementation Plan on the task after thorough reconnaissance on the area and confirm minefield perimeters and mark that out. Responsible to ensure all the right assets are deployed and complete their tasks in a professional and safe manner and according to the NTSG and the RONCO SOP. After each day I confirm the day s work that was done and send in all progress reports to my HQ and the UN. Responsible for the daily update of maps and the update of the electronic version of the map Responsible to complete and submit a Completion Report with all relevant information on the task to the UN. I partly developed and presented a highly successful Demining Team Leader and EOD3 Refresher Course at the School for Military Engineers outside Khartoum during July and August 2010. I acted as the Course Leader and the Chief Instructor. This course (18 students) was presented to Sudanese employees of RONCO, as well as members from the National Mine Action Centre (NMAC). Credentials: - Certificate of Commendation from the President of RONCO during 2011. 1 Feb 2007 to 31 May 2008 AND 1 Feb 2009 to 30 March 2010 Team Leader: MVMMDS (Vehicular Array Mine Detection System VAMIDS) for Mechem Pty Ltd in Sudan and South Sudan. UN RELATED As the Vamids Team leader I am responsible and accountable for: the effective execution of Mechem and UN Standard Operational Procedures; to act as the EOD practitioner within my group; I am involved in the planning and administration of tasks allocated by the UN, that is road verification related; EOD Technician (level 3) within Group1; all clearance operations and UXO disposals according to International Mine Action Standards (IMAS), National Technical Standard Guidelines (NTSG) and company SOP s; that all mines and UXO s found during demining operations are destroyed by explosive and deflagration method; all safety measures and precautions during demolition activities, and ensure that all storage and transportation of explosives and accessories are being conducted according to IMAS standards; planning, coordinating and conducting the clearance activities of the demolition site after the detonation of charges; the complete and correct submission of reports of all demolition tasks and explosive expenditures; 4

the effective record keeping, calculation of expenditures and the timeous submitting of explosives and associated component requirements to the Logistical Coordinator; to submit QA reports of all the different assets used by this company in a 21 day cycle. These QA s include Survey, MEDDS/REST, MDD, EOD, manual demining and mechanical (mechanical vegetation clearance and the Vehicular Array Mine Detection) systems. 1 June 2008 to 31 Jan 2009 Team Leader: Demining Survey/REST team for Mechem Pty Ltd in South Sudan and Sudan UN RELATED The Integrated Team Leader is responsible for: the planning, preparation and safe conducting of NTS and technical surveys and the application of the REST system according to IMAS, Mechem SOP s and National Technical Standard Guidelines (NTSG), planning of all logistical support to the survey team, the proper control, maintenance and safekeeping of personnel; discipline and morale within the group; the completion of daily, weekly and monthly reports, including internal QA s; monitoring conformance of personnel and systems, and initiate necessary corrective actions; the surveyor identifies, through different methods, dangerous areas and lists these areas in the database; the Surveyor is involved in the planning and administration of tasks allocated by the United Nations, relating to Road Assessment and Road Verification.
