A Multi-University Fed Post-Graduate Accelerator and a Model for Economic Development Partnership, Sponsorship & Marketing Opportunity Prepared By: Steve Boerner President Hatch House Ventures steve@hatchhouseventures.com

Company & Proposal Overview: Hatch House Ventures (HHV) is a growing network of startup accelerators in partnership with higher education entrepreneurship programs. With three partner-locations in place, one traditional accelerator location, and hundreds of startups impacted, we haven t found a need to slow down. That said, we re stepping it up. Big time. For the past 12 months, we ve made moves to create something truly unique: the nation s first multi-university fed post-graduate accelerator. The below information you are about to read is two-fold. First, it serves as a request for your partnership. We need your help to make it happen. Secondly, it is an overview of how we plan to increase economic impact, but also return the highest value possible to partner-sponsors who aim to be different. Our Philosophy: We focus on finding entrepreneurs and founding teams that we can believe we can help make significant progress in improving their business to reach the next milestone (e.g. proof of concept, prototype, or profitability). That said, we do not aim to pad an investment portfolio at this time. For the purpose of the forthcoming Wilmington location, our focus is on graduating startups with high-upside potential and non-capital intensive ramp-up costs. As you ll see in our Videos & The Numbers section below, the funding we ve help steer is high, but the impact is higher. Why Sponsors Play a Critical Role: Hatch House Ventures is a for-profit, for-purpose program. We remain consistent in that we never charge a startup or take equity. We maintain a sustainable and scalable operation through licensing fees through university contracts along with software revenue from HeliumIQ, our community management platform; sold worldwide. Sponsors enable us to provide the services to entrepreneurs at a reduced cost, run local and regional education events, and market for entrepreneurs and follow-on sponsors. Wilmington Location (Primary Sponsorship): The purpose of this sponsorship program is to open a truly unique model in Wilmington, DE. This co-living, co-working, 5-month program (twice annual) will be the first multi-university supported post-graduate accelerator program of its kind with a specific focus on bringing job creators to the resources of Wilmington, DE. Startups will grow their business in a three-story 6,600 sq. ft. building concluding with a demo day with invitations to local funders and local potential customers. Accepted startups will receive fully subsidized living/working space, pre-seed grant funding, eventual hand-off to regional resource partners, and immersion to a region-wide ecosystem of resources. Prior Success Stories: We have run programs with three colleges to date and have had over 30 students and postgraduate startups run through our programs. Startups in our on-campus programs have developed new products, found mentors, and raised money. Upon graduation, the Wilmington Hatch House location will serve as a landing pad and assist with transitioning post-graduate startups. The Details: Who? When? Where? Why? Sample Five-Month Overview Who?: Startups: A maximum of 15 post-graduate entrepreneurs will be selected for each of the annual five-month live-work accelerator programs resulting is roughly 30 startups/year and around 45-50 entrepreneurs who filter through the Wilmington, DE post-graduate accelerator. Hatch House Ventures does not select entrepreneurs based on any one specific industry. Rather, we seek those with a foundation to build upon. We seek those with a strong and developed idea or in-force business. We aim to select those where our insights can be most felt and where the wealth of resources we provide can be best applicable. Higher Education: Here s the problem. Typically, graduating entrepreneurs fail to survive past graduation. Job creators become job takers. Resources at universities are finite and must go back into the current students. Graduates, sixmonths after commencement, incur their first student-loan payment adding to the difficulty of startup survival. Hatch House Ventures has dozens of universities aligned to participate. For the first time, programs can communicate to students that they have arranged an opportunity to transition from one set of resources to another; something they never could before. When?: Cohorts begin January 1st and July 1st of every calendar year. Where?: This post-graduate accelerator program will take place in the heart of Wilmington, Delaware s Innovation District. The purchased building is located at: 103 W. 7th St., Wilmington, DE.

Why?: The Founders of Hatch House Ventures graduated from their respective schools many years ago. Both, independently of one another, failed to survive more than six-months due to lack of mentorship, general nativity, and few resources due to cost of regaining lost them. This Hatch House Ventures location is how we can change the system for the better allowing for a proper transition. Today, entrepreneurship is much different. In the past decade resources have grown exponentially, but there still exists a divide in resources. Current students are wealthy beyond belief in their access to capital, office space, mentorships, and on-campus, like-minded collaboration. For more mature companies, there is also a wealth of opportunity for the best to rise. Accelerators, incubators, traditional funding, among other resources are plentiful. That said, a major drop-off in resources occurs, and exists, for post-graduate entrepreneurs who may just need a little more time, a little guidance, and perhaps then job takers become job creators.
