The birthday of our beloved Corps is quickly approaching on November10th.and so far the response has not been very good. The ticket sales is low and we need to get the caterer a close and accurate count for the meals. so please lets make the extra effort to join us at the ball! We will be celebrating, as you know, the 239th birthday of the US Marine Corps. The ball is being held at the Knights of Columbus at 2216 Grand Ave. So if each one of our members was to sell 10 tickets we would definitely get the job done. So lets get after it! We need to have the final count by November 3rd. Semper Fi Joe Aguilar Commandant 1

Senior Vice Commandant Report: Dennis Sitzler, Sr. Vice From your Senior Vice, As I am still recovering from my recent surgeries I just have to say.. Get thee to the Marine Corps Ball! Help out with Toys for Tots! and Recruit, Recruit, Recruit! Chaplains Report: Fellow Marines, On Oct. 18th a fellow Marine, Chuck Hall and his wife Nancy, lost her mom, Jackie. Let our prayers be with Chuck, Nancy and the family. October 21st, a memorial was held at Cremation & Funeral Gallery which I, Joe & Eva and Tim & Pat Bender attended. The League will be represented with a bouquet of flowers. I, your Chaplain took a little spill off some steps. No problem, I'm sure the Lord was trying to get my attention to look forward, not back. Dennis Sitzler is still Doctoring with his shoulder. So let us pray for Dennis & Chuck,& Nancy as they begin to heal from their situations. Jr. Vice Commandant Report: Marines, The Toys for Tots campaign for 2014 is under way, with some events already having been held. If you can help, please let an officer know! The Birthday Ball is coming up fast and we want to see as many of you as possible at the proceedings. I am beginning to look at places to do the Christmas party, if anyone would like to host it at their home, let me know, otherwise I will pick a restaurant for it. October 4th, Huntley, MT. held a wounded Warrior fundraising day with food, music and even helicopter rides from Northern Skies Aviation (from Laurel). Veterans got to fly for free. Some of us took advantage of the offer and had a 10 minute tour of the valley. A big thanks to Northern Skies and the people of Huntley!! Semper Fi May the future heal whatever we are confronted with. Look to the Lord, for it is He who has the power to mend and heal any &all circumstances. May the Lord be with all. God Bless, and hope to see many at the Marine Ball Nov. 10th at the Knights of Columbus hall at 6:00 p.m. Semper Fi & God Bless all. Attention to Orders You are invited to the 239 th Birthday, Marine Corps Ball On Nov10 th 2014 the Marine Corps celebrates it s 239 th birthday. You know there are no ex- Marines; we have active duty, reserves, veterans, and even dead Marines. All Marines are part of the brotherhood. The Marines in Billings have always continued with our proud traditions. We are going to celebrate our Corps founding on it s birthday on Nov. 10 th at the Knights of Columbus hall at 2216 Grand Ave. The Marine Corps League is taking the lead and is putting the Ball together for our fellow Marine men and women. It is always difficult to organize a function of this sort and to keep the ticket prices low enough so all who desire to attend can afford to. We do not leave Marines behind. Part of our cost savings are raffles, silent auctions, cookouts, and selling adds in the Marine Corps Ball Program. The ticket price is $25.00 each, this is the actual cost of the meal. We have the cost of the hall, the music, the birthday cakes and the souvenir cups to overcome. You can help by buying your tickets early so we can get a good head count. The tickets will be ready by the end of September. Please contact Joe Aguilar 360 5990, Tim Bender 248-5286 Burt Gigoux 252-8766 or Tiny Metcalf 252-5718 for tickets. If you have or can obtain silent auction items we can use the donation, if you have time to sell adds for the program, we can use the help. Buy some raffle tickets, we have a very good 308 cal rifle. Above all please attend. The Eugene Sara Detachment's Marine Corps Ball is starting to take form, its success will be determined by turn out. We have been fortunate to have some very good sponsors, who have made generous contributions. The ball is on a week night and will end at about 9:00 pm, so those that have to work on Tuesday will not suffer. You can buy you tickets at the Wine Market and Deli on 1942 Grand Ave Weds Sat. 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. You can also send your check to the Eugene Sara Detachment at P.O. Box 2051 Billings MT. 59103 and pick them up at the door before the ball. Please buy your tickets now so we will know how many meals to order. 11

Thanks again, to all of our members and sponsors for all of your continuing support throughout the past and current year. You are all important to our continuing programs and events. 12
