Eugene Sara Detachment Marine Corps League PO Box 2051 Billings, MT 59103 www.eugenesara.com Commandant - Joe Aguilar Editor - Tim Bender Distribution Joe Aguilar Advertising Jim Borner, Dennis Schaefer Photos Tim & Patricia Bender and Eva Aguilar & Judy Demaree Commandants Message Members and friends of the Marine Corps League, Well here we are coming up on the end of the year, with the Marine Corps Ball, Toys for Tots, and now Christmas being put behind us, all we can do is finish off the year. We've managed to keep up with everything that's been asked of us, but hoping that by keeping up with recruiting we'll manage to come up with new members that might be willing to buck up and help. As you know some of our members are up there. Hoping that you've all had a very Merry Christmas, and wishing you a prosperous New Year:!!! Semper Fi The Toys for Tots 24 hour roundup at Metra Park brought together the Marines, KTVQ news, and the West High Cheerleaders. We had great support from the public with donations Joe Aguilar (406)876-4530. ssgtaguilar@yahoo.com 1

Senior Vice Commandant Report: From your Senior Vice, I hope everyone had a great Christmas. My wife is doing so much better after her hip surgery just before Thanksgiving. Thank you for sending the flowers and get well cards, she really enjoyed them. We want to wish everyone a very Happy New Year and don't forget those New Year resolutions. Best wishes to all. Semper Fi Dennis Sitzler, Sr. Vice Chaplains Report: Fellow members & families of the League, December will be past soon, but it's the most important month of the year. The birthday of our Lord Jesus Christ is what our lives should be all about, for it is He that our lives should be all about. His presence certainly has given me great comfort in my daily life. We lost a member to Him this month. Dale Webb has went to his kingdom. I pray that everyone will have a great Christmas and a bright future in the coming year. With this being said, may "God Bless" each and everyone as we take our walk through life. Semper Fi & God Bless all. James Borner, Chaplain (406)850-1802 Jr. Vice Commandant Report: Marines, The Toys for Tots campaign for 2014 ended successfully just before Christmas with the goal being reached. Many kids out there had a Christmas they otherwise might not have had. We lost a League member and old friend to many of us, by the name of Dale Webb of Belfry, MT. I have personally known Dale and his brother Steve (another MCL member) for 25+ years. Dale will be missed. Joe Aguilar, Tom Lowry and I attended the service in Belfry along with most of the Belfry residents. Being the first of the new year, its time to start thinking about the sweethearts dinner in February, as well as upcoming elections. If you are interested in running for an office start contemplation on it now. Happy New Year to all members, Marines, sponsors and your families. Not much to report right now. I did a tour as Santa for the Reserve staff at their Christmas party on Dec. 20th, there were a lot of happy youngster's they were glad to see Santa. The youngest was a 5 month old, all the way up to a couple of 16 year old girls from North Dakota. Had a gift for all of them. Thanks to the I & I staff for asking me to be Santa. Thanks for your time and Toys. I hope all of you have the best of holidays and a even better new year. See you all next year! Semper Fi, Sgt at Arms/Detail Cmdr Tom Lowry Ralph McKinney and his wife look over the ornament they got in the exchange at the detachment Christmas party 7

Marines, Sailors, and Marine Family Members, This month we enjoyed the D Co (-) family day at the HTC. Tiny was gracious enough to be our Santa and take pictures and hand out presents to the children of D Co. Thanks again Tiny! We have wrapped up the Toys for Tots season. Distribution went well and thanks to the platoon of volunteers from Wells Fargo, Family Services, St Vincent de Paul, the Marine Corps League, and the families, Marines, and sailors of the I-I staff and D Co. Thank you again Marines, for picking up the late donation boxes around Billings. I know this process will be ongoing into January, we have a lot of selfless donors who still want to give toys. Thanks to Alex Ward we now have adorned our offices with a motivating veterans memorial calendar. Thank you, Alex, for dropping those by. I ll end with one of my favorite quotes he put in the calendar this year: Marines I see as two breeds, Rottweiler's or Dobermans, because Marines come in two varieties, big and mean, or skinny and mean. They re aggressive on the attack and tenacious on the defense. They ve got really short hair and they always go for the throat. -R Adm. Jay R.
